Believe it or not, for being as big of a "Gate" fan as I am, I've never seen the sequel. I think the original DVD release, which was mostly found in Canada, is OOP now. I'd love for it to come stateside one day.

me too, these are 2 of the biggest releases of the year for me...

only gripe is that I was hoping for more extras... couldn't Meg Tilly agree to an interview?

Nice to see Universal supply them with a meddle-free transfer for once. Or, technically, twice.

Shout Factory actually released that film on DVD in 2007 as a double feature with MANEATER OF HYDRA. See HERE. Blu-ray would be better though

Could Madman be available? Code Red apparently won't be pressing any more copies and it's now sold out.

Remember how Society was on the market and it was supposed to go to either Synapse or Image? We haven't heard anything in a long time. Just sayin'.

If another deal with MGM is done, why not hope for The Dark Half? I think that would sell well being both a Stephen King adaptation and a Romero film.

Also, Monkey Shines is Romero, and so should sell well.

I feel like people are just calling out random titles at this point.

We need a legit hint so we can actually speculate without simply saying
"I want this movie, so this is what's (probably) coming out"

There isn't any evidence of another MGM deal.

And these titles are more than likely from independent rightsholders.
Again, big studios only do big deals, that's why every small label isn't making deals with them.

The Changeling is with WB, of course. You can get the DVD over at Amazon for the bargain price of $5.98 (or $4.09 at wbshop).

I didn't say there was. Both films lost money at the box office, and both were made by Orion, which MGM owns the rights to. Neither film has been re-released to DVD since their first editions in the very early days of DVD, even by other companies, which MGM gives a lot of their titles to. Both are out-of-print, technically, and in full-screen at that. I don't see it as a big leap for Scream Factory to one day get the rights to distribute them, maybe even along with Needful Things, which is also owned by MGM and is another DVD that's in the same situation. MGM doesn't really do many releases of catalog titles on blu-ray anymore, but unlike Lionsgate, they do lend them out.

I'd certainly like to see THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED released, uncut and in widescreen.

Personally, I'm just trying to find alternatives to the Sleepaway Camp trilogy that would make sense in a 1 or 2 title deal (most likely independently owned), fit the criteria (popular 80's titles) and wouldn't appear to be spoken for. There doesn't appear to be many films that actually do fit that criteria. Between Scream Factory, Synapse, Scorpion Releasing, Blue Underground, Anchor Bay, Image Entertainment, Code Red amongst others, most of the truly popular 80's titles that lie with small independent rightsholders seem to be spoken for, for the most part.

I always keep my fingers crossed for a WB deal, even if there is a better chance of hell freezing over while pigs learn to fly. That's a great deal, by the way, but I don't really need a second copy on DVD. I've had mine for years and it's still going strong.

Vision folded some years back (Mark Damon, the head of the company, now heads Foresight Unlimited). A lot of their titles are currently with MGM.

The title you were talking about is possible since Scream did I Come in Peace.

Received Halloween 2 and Terror Train today from Amazon. Halloween 2 with no slipcover and looks like it was stomped, sleeve and case creased down the middle. Terror Train was fine besides having stuff that looked like candle wax on the slip.

I would love for them to do Hellraiser III or the original version of Halloween 666, or even The Omen IV

They showed that film to Congress, trying to convince them that ObamaCare has a purpose.

That release is pretty awful PQ-wise, AQ-wise and it isn't the full length cut. Scream could do a much better job now I'm sure

I would buy Hellraiser III ( The last watchable one) in a heartbeat. Also Halloween 666 would be amazing, best version to watch.
