Were they mostly the specific releases being put on Blu-Ray?

yes for both of those...especially Tales From the Hood. The last story with the thug reliving his bad deeds was great! I remember seeing that movie in the theater for the week or so it was out (it bombed if I remember correctly) and I loved every second of it. Great practical effects.

I have been wanting a good release of Tales from the Hood forever. LOVED this film! Scream Factory, take note!

Was initially going to pass on it, but preordered Day of the Dead. I haven't seen this movie in forever. I wasn't that big of a fan, as I prefer Dawn of the Dead the most of the trilogy...but I couldn't resist. Can't wait to watch this!

Not to mention that Universal has the rights to it now.

Not particularly. Mainly just going through the extensive DVD collection and selling off ones that weren't "must haves". Sold some in DVD lot form on ebay, etc.

Oh. Also, Universal is very much why I think Shout has an advantage in getting Tales from the Hood. They own the Savoy Pictures though my only concern is, did the DVD sell well enough so they could take a risk?

[quote=Frightener22;8043519]**BREAKING: NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR EARLY 2014**

Director Kevin Tenney's ouija board hit WITCHBOARD and the "Eat a bowl of F*@K" classic NIGHT OF THE DEMONS (which, in particular, has quite a vocal following and has been requested many times here) will both be coming to Blu-ray in early 2014!!!!!!!!!!!

No details to report other than DEMONS will be a "Collector's Edition" and the artwork is already in the works.

Happy Humpday!

Thank you Scream Factory, we needed these on HD! now to sell my DVDs of those to get this.

Maybe Scream will release Tales from The Hood in 2014, it would be kick ass to see a collector's edition.

Maybe we'll get The Car and Serial Mom as well.

I know it's been out of print for quite a while anyways.

To whoever had recommended it to me earlier, I just got Paul Bartel's Private Parts in the mail. I am about to start it. I hope that I like it as much as I did Raoul and Death Race 2000.

The dvd is lousy too. The film is window boxed. It's widescreen, but not anamorphic or authored right or something. It was an early dvd release and the only way to watch it widescreen is to zoom the dvd, or rip it and edit out the black window effect.

This needs a release on blu badly... (but not as badly as Tales from the crypt Demon Night )

I second having Scream Factory put out a collector's edition of Tales From the Hood. Love that flick, Great little anthology film.

A double feature blu of that and Bordello of Blood is such a no brainer it's not even funny. Then again, so is one of Trespass and Judgment Night.

Tales From the Hood would fantastic! I love that movie, particularly the David Allen Grier segment.

You know. I can see Demon Knight being a CE, but cannot imagine Bordello of Blood getting a solo release. That said, I really enjoy them both.

Again, hopefully the DVD of Tales form the Hood sold well enough. Here's the thing, I was told that something Nomad will ever get a Scream Factory release it's due to the fact that the DVD did not sell well. So, bye-bye Blu-Ray of that unfortunately. So, pray to God Tales from the Hood at least sold well.

Well... That was... different. I didn't NOT like it. That said, it wasn't great either. It was weird, which I liked. I really cannot describe it. The only thing I can say is that it would make a great double bill with the first Basket Case.

Perhaps Scream could get these titles for next year (or 2015) too? Society and Bride of Re-Animator.
The fact that he says that HE will put out a BD implies that in 2014 the rights from Lionsgate (for Bride) will revert back to him.
