Another terrific line-up of extras for "Night of the Comet". Now that's a Collector's Edition if I ever saw one

NIGHT OF THE COMET isn't a favorite of mine, but the extras will sell me a copy.

Thanks, I went ahead and picked it up. Man best buys horror section has never been great but aside from The Fog they literally had like nothing. I wanted to pick up the Shining Blu and they only had the DVD! Thats blasphemy, cmon best buy step up your game, Id be willing to bet if they stocked all of screams titles they would sell very well once people noticed they carry them. Horror collectors probably don't even bother to stop in and look around at best buy because they have given up on them carrying anything which is a shame.

I agree, Best Buy has missed out easily on hundreds of dollars from myself over the past few months by choosing not to carry virtually anything. I still have a hard time understanding why they've chosen to carry literally nothing over carrying at least some of the titles they have on their website. My Best Buy for instance had half empty shelves since last winter. Rather then restock them, they left them empty until deciding to just remove half the shelves and consolidate. Now we have HUGE empty sections of floor space with no product at all, and half the product (if that) total then we had 1 year ago... which obviously makes way more sense then carrying a bunch of titles people might actually pick up if they actually saw them first hand.

Night of the Comet was not a particularly strong movie, in my opinion, but it has a distinct spot in my 1980s childhood nostalgia memory bank. It would be worth having just to place alongside Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the John Hughes movies, The Lost Boys, and all of that.

When I saw Night of the Comet in middle school circa 1984 or 1985, I thought that Catherine Mary Stewart was one of the most beautiful women ever created. I also remember my middle school self having a good laugh at the "I'm not crazy, I just don't give a ****." line.

I was at Target on Sunday and I was amazed that they had a better Blu-ray selection than Best Buy. That is something I never thought I'd say.

That's a YMMV situation. I have two Targets and both have a rather poor selection. They have the newer titles and that is about it. My BB is going that route as well though. Nothing but new stuff and no catalog stuff.

you're lucky getting them shipped so early! I ordered through Amazon, so don't expect them to ship until around the 26th..

Anyone else hope the Amitiville Trilogy and Vincent Price sets drop in price?

Ordered those and the amityville set directly from scream. The amityville set was 48.00 about the cheapest I saw, hopefully I can get a few bucks from the poster to offset the price since there limited to 100.

I have two by where i live and both are loaded with Blu's and the one by my office which is busier has new releases and a ton of Dvd's, i think it depends on the market and demographic shopping at the location. Definitely YMMV

Yeah they changed the movie section at my Best Buy just a few weeks ago, and there is virtually nothing there. Other than when they get in some stock for special displays or events (like if they do something for Horror films as we near Halloween), the store's selection is awful. Basically their whole physical media selection now (movies, games, and music) is down to the bone. If that's what they have to do to stay afloat I understand, but if they're going to become a higher priced H.H. Gregg, why would I bother going in there?

It's great that people are supporting the independent labels by purchasing their movies even if the films aren't personal favorites. I've never bought anything just for the extras but have done plenty of blind buys. Anything to help these guys acquire more stuff.

Me too. I wish that they'd do at least one a week. Not necessarily Friday, just one a week.

hoping but starting to wonder... Amazon is being stubborn on the PRICE set...it's been $69.99 for a long time while DEEP DISCOUNT and DVD EMPIRE have had it for at least $10 less for over a month...

want to order from Amazon since I have PRIME and will get it for sure on the street date...

also noticed that this is the first time that I couldn't get other new SCREAM titles for $19.99 (Psycho sequels, Prince Of Darkness) and paid the $20.99 (yes, only a buck but I'm breaking my rule of not paying over $20 for new releases...)

Amazon had it for $59 when they first announced it... but then raised it to $79 quickly after... I waited and have regretted it ever since
