I should've posted this earlier but my batch of 4 titles came in today from Best Buy: Halloween II, The Burning, Lifeforce, & The Howling, all with slipcovers. I'm covinced they're a go-to place if you want the slipcovers, as others have had such luck with them. They were all in near perfect condition except for Lifeforce, near the top of the spine on both sides it was a little damaged, but at least the slip came with it.

My main reason for doing so, is the only new release titles I buy are with ones that come with slipcovers, this guarantees I will not have to send a possibly damaged one back, and I pick the best quality one I want off the shelf.

So retailers not carrying Shout Factory titles more or less forces me to use online retailers. Although I have been lucky thus far and only had two new movies/box sets ever to have arrived damaged, with my most recent Amazon acquisition of the Farscape complete series, the outer box had one entire lengthwise edge of color rubbed off (where the seasons are removed) and two marks made by a box cutter on the spine (one lengthwise and one widthwise).

Yes, very good, especially if you like Re-Animator.

Same here!

I'm still crossing my fingers that someone will give The Last Man on Earth a Blu-ray release.

Yeah, even though it is in the Public Domain, it is one of my favorite Price movies and I watch it every year around Halloween.

I think Re-Animator is better personally speaking...but I love From Beyond...
My big two Stuart Gordon films right there. Its too bad ReAnimator is held with Image...I know for a fact that we would get a Criterion-esque release if Shout got it....
Im curious about Second Sights' blu ray of it

Yeah and the Candlelight edition out of Germany comes out I think within the next week if I am not mistaken. Second Sight and Candlelight transfers are going to be from the same new master. I am probably going to wait for Second Sight's personally though.

I only like it a bit more... I didn't care too much for Bride, though.

We could get:
-Highlander SE
-Roadgames BD
-The Wicker Man BD
-Near Dark SE
-Trick or Treat BD
-Maximum Overdrive BD
I love Highlander and I think most of the dvd's barely had much on them or at least not on anything about how they made it. Like behind the scenes stuff.

Some company called Phase4Films has Maximum overdrive in the US/Canada not Studio Canal and it seems they do not want to do anything with it.

If that Phase4Films would let it go and Shout can get it than it will definitely be an awesome Collector's Edition. I was looking at a laserdisc database and it showed at one time there was going to be a laserdisc with a King commentary but it was cancelled before release.

I agree... I apparently had my expectations too high for Re-Animator after hearing all the hype about it for so long. After finally watching it last year I have to say that I find From Beyond to be far more enjoyable. Re-animator isn't bad, but (to me) it isn't nearly as good as From Beyond.

Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Castle Freak are all genre classics. If you are a true fan of horror movies, you have to check these movies out at some point.
