Not for a least 5-6 years...and that's only if they don't renew the licensing deals.

They are identical you have nothing to worry about!

Anyone else feel as if we were spoiled with all the movie title announcements they gave us over the year...I think their frequency has died down quite a bit...
Just wondering

It was/is inevitable that they'll have slow periods... I'd wager we'll be hearing a lot more then we have been this month. Either way though, as long as they keep churning out grade A vintage 80's cheese I'll be more then happy, even if I have to wait long periods between announcements.

I think we're still getting used to their steadier announcement schedule of two to four titles per month versus getting one to three new titles announced per week like we had been for the couple of months leading up to last year's Horrorhound announcements. As fun as that was, that announcement pace really wasn't sustainable. Announcing two to four titles per month probably stays more in line with the pace in which they can actually release titles.

Whatever gets announced at this time of the year probably winds up being a first trimester release (January - April) in 2014, likely the slowest time of the year for new Blu-Ray releases. That was certainly the case this year for Scream Factory. Only seven Scream Factory releases came within the first four months of 2013, compared to twelve in the second trimester and a whopping twenty for the final trimester.

Keep in mind too that Scream Factory is already far eclipsing their production levels from their first year of releases. Scream Factory released 29 Blu-Rays within their first calendar year (09/18/2012 - 09/17/2013) and they're already over half way there with 15 Blu-Rays, 2 Box Sets and 2 DVDs scheduled for the first quarter of year two (09/18/2013 - 12/17/2013) with another 8 Blu-Rays already slated for 2014. Again, that's not a sustainable pace. I think there'll be a bit of a lull through the first four months of 2014, but it'll probably pick up again in May.

I'm a little glad things are slowing down a bit now for the end of the year. I'm glad they're having a lot of success and I'm glad they're giving us for the most part, what we want. But you know trying to keep up with them and all the new releases takes a toll on my bank account. The good "Scream Factory" titles that I want are like crack, I have to have them!

So I'm okay if things take a break for a little bit.

Update!:
From an answered question on their FaceBook
"titles released from September on will not be included in the sale."

^ Looks like I have a good enough reason to keep my German BD release when I grab the scream factory release. Though... On the the other hand, there's a severe lack of Carpenter in the UK. With Arrow releasing Big Trouble in Little China, it's likely they'll be interested in releasing more Carpenter (if they're able to), which means they'll probably do a different transfer and we will have 3 to argue over which is best lol.

I had high hopes for this release. Well, let's wait and see. I'll probably pick up the Scandinavian release instead. Not sure if it is the same transfer as the German one though.

Re: Assault on pct 13 - To those of us who are collecting their slipcovers this is a must-have release regardless of the transfer, which is excellent BTW. That's one bad-ass cover.

Re the pace of releases, on paper it sounds depressing but it's actually a good thing. We all love Shout/Scream Factory but they're not the only labels releasing great stuff. Scorpion, Grindhouse, Severin, Arrow, they're all pumping out titles and we'll need to support them too. Gotta spread the love

You forgot Synapse, with their possible Suspiria and Chopping Mall releases. Not to mention Prom Night, Curtains, Phenomena, Tenebre, Etc.

Prediction Time: With today's announcement coming shortly I figured I'd throw out my prediction for today's sale... I predict today's sale will be for Halloween III for the same $15.99 sale price.

Looking back at the entire catalog, they released 28 titles up through August of 2013. This, coupled with the fact that yesterday's lead off sale was for the original Scream factory release, Halloween II... Leads me to believe that every title up through the end of last August will have a 1 day sale price.

I bought #3 a few months ago, but I snatched up #2 yesterday. I already have the Universal version, but Scream Factory's extra goodies make it hard to turn down.

I'd expect 2 or 3 announcements on Friday since that has traditionally been the big announcement day.
