I think Disney has the edge on them, plus they gave away the rights to future Godzilla films to Universal.

I thought Cockneys v. Zombies was rather amusing...not as good as Shaun but decent. I'll agree most of the other newer releases aren't that amazing but that could be said about many new films these days no matter who releases them. It's definitley not the heyday of film.

Have they ever said why COLD PREY II didn't make it into the Scream line, or to Blu?

That's one recent movie that would've fit in nicely.

Exactly. On a different page I mentioned on Facebook that I asked them about porting over Anchor Bay's materials and they were very vague and sounded not so likely about weather or not they were going to be able to port over what already existed. The old commentary is really the only great loss, I can do without all the TV spots and trailers (which we'll get anyway), the 14 or so minute Linnea interview and a "promo reel" which I don't even remember what existed on it.

I don't mean to stoke the fire but it is kinda crappy to charge for shipping when they ship it in a plastic bag and it can easily be damaged. I ordered Q and Town that Dreaded Sundown during the sale with free shipping (so no slips to worry about) and luckily they arrived unharmed.

That is one thing, even though I understand why, that Im not into when it comes to collecting or upgrading are the features on the DVD that arent on the blu-ray so you cant really retire the DVD if youre into the extra. When you dont have a lot of room its an issue to own various editions of the same film

I had a dream last night that Scream Factory was releasing The First Power to Blu-ray, and now I kind of want it to happen.

I've said it before, but a double feature with The Believers would be perfect.

The issue of old extras vs. new extras may not seem like a big deal but it actually is. An older commentary track might be livelier, full of interesting tidbits and overall more entertaining, while a newly recorded track, especially with the same participants, could not be as lively or informative. I hate when older supplements are not ported over. I understand it may not always be possible to re-license the material but it does suck when it's not done.

That, Salute of the Jugger, The Hitcher and Split Second and I would be happy (Rutger is the man!)

Seeing that they've released thus far...

They Live
The Fog
Price of Darkness
Assault on Precinct 13

I have to think that Universal's Village of the Damned and MGM's Escape From New York would have to be somewhere on their radar. Especially since Escape was given such a lackluster Blu-ray by MGM (after such a great DVD release).

Also, I know that Paramount has a deal in place with Warner Bros, but they've also licensed titles out to Criterion and Olive. So would an Escape From L.A. release by Shout/Scream be at all possible?

Likely of interest to region-free Scream fans, here is the slate of just-announced Arrow titles, including The Stuff, Hellgate, Phantom of the Paradise, and White of the Eye.

I think Image released the last iteration of The Stuff on DVD. Under that awful "Midnight Madness Series" banner.

Rumor has it that Image is doing The Stuff and Hell Gate on blu-ray as soon as the Arrow release comes out (so they can use the HD materials), for the non-regionfree friends.

And as far as Phantom of the Paradise, Cliff is still trying, I hope. Fingers crossed on that one in the US.

Ugh. I'll import The Stuff rather than give Image another dollar. Their Blu-ray output has been an absolute disgrace.
