Lastly, Ghoulies 4 is a ghoulies movie in name only. Everything about that film strays from what was established in the first 3 films. It's essentially a reboot without the label. There are technically 4 Omen films (5 with the reboot) but people only ever chat about the trilogy.
Actually, the fourth is a sequel to the first, with the main character returning. Also, when it comes to Ghoulies, not many people talk about the third one either.

Also, Warner does not play nice. If anything, Shout would have to let them distribute their disc of the third for a set. Nightbreed anyone? If the theatrical cut appears on the Cabal Cut release, I'll believe you. Until then, sorry.

In my mind I group together Ghoulies 1 and 4 with each other and 2 and 3 separately.

Ghoulies 4 has little to do with the creatures themselves, but to be fair neither does the first movie in all honesty.

The one good thing about Ghoulies 4 is the soundtrack, though. Same guy from Deathstalker II, and for some reason he makes really catchy cheesy synth melodies.

How could I forget the clamoring for Without Warning?
Tales and Vault are Fox, not MGM. But yes. Those. EFNY would probably be Shout!, but what do I know?

Warner Bros does not, has not, and will NEVER license out titles.

They are by far the largest and wealthiest movie studio in the world, and they just don't do it.

Shout asked for the Theatrical Cut of Nightbreed and were turned down.

Warner doesn't license out films. Period. To anyone. Ever. The end.

Every other company that says NO has wiggle room, like Lionsgate, but not Warner!

Incorrect. Warner have licensed out to Criterion (Badlands) and the BFI (The Devils, Revolution).

That was because the direcor of Badlands specifically asked WB to, actually practically begged.

Those were flukes. It doesn't happen for regular movies, on regular labels.

That's essentially true. I was just illustrating that Warner don't have a blanket no-licensing policy

What release should be next on my radar? I'm going to a store tomorrow that regularly carries Scream Factory titles.

Day of the Dead
From Beyond
Lifeforce
Swamp Thing
TerrorVision / The Video Dead

Night of the Comet is a favorite. However, it does not come out for a month. And I'm going tomorrow. Last I checked, From Beyond was not there. It's my favorite too... so I'll look.

Day of the Dead
From Beyond
Lifeforce
Swamp Thing
TerrorVision / The Video Dead
From Beyond! To be fair, I'm not a fan of most zombie films these days as I feel the genre has been ruined by over exposure so that automatically eliminates Day of the Dead as it suffers because of it's association with said genre. Swamp Thing isn't really Horror, (But is a fun movie none the less) so I'd put that on the back burner, and I haven't seen Lifeforce or TerrorVision/The Video Dead so they automatically get pushed back. But really, From Beyond is a great Monster film with the lovely Barbra Crampton, The always great Jeffrey Combs, and some great monster effects. I can promise you won't be disappointed with From Beyond.

To be clear with my first post, I have seen at all of the films listed already (except The Video Dead, but I like TerrorVision enough to deal with that). I was looking for which release gets the highest recommendation.

The Video Dead wasn't that good, imo. I liked it, but TerroVision was amazing.

I've seen them all, I'd list them, by film, in this order. (Best to worst) IMO:

1. From Beyond
2. TerrorVision
3. Day of the Dead
4. Swamp Thing
5. The Video Dead

What had the best features? If Swamp Thing's the only thing I can find, I'll get that, but among the rest?

Also, you seem to have dropped Lifeforce.

Honestly, again From Beyond.
It had the tons of features from the MGM Deluxe DVD ported over, plus all the new stuff done just for the blu-ray.

Day of the Dead has most of the ported over stuff, and then new stuff too. It's got REALLY long features.

I'd say those two by far have the most. The best? I guess they'd be tied on that. They really are pretty much definitive.

So yeah. From Beyond is a priority. Day of the Dead is a close second. If I get Day, I might as well pick up Land as well.

I hate to bring up Fright Night Part 2 again, but might any of the actors who owns it? Producers? Writers? Tom Holland?
