I do hope they managed to restore the fully uncut version. I've been wanting a Blu-Ray of the movie for quite some time now...
as have I. I've watched Silent Night, Deadly Night every year since it first debuted on vas many years ago. And I also am in the camp of SNDN part 3 sucking and parts 4 and 5 being very watchable. Part 2 is in a whole other ball park. It must be seen to be believed. Good times. And also...."F*ck off.......DOC!!!!!" hahaha

I'll have to watch 4&5 on Crackle then. Being independent stories, that'll be fine not having seen 1-3 yet.

If anyone is wondering about a Toxic Avenger Blu-ray, Kaufman said that they are planning one to coincide with the eventual release of Toxic Avenger 5 (they are still working on the script so this means years until we see Toxie in HD).

Somebody get James Gunn on the phone...
Wait a minute. Lloyd probably talked to him when filming his eventual cameo for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Also, does this mean that Class of Nuke Em High 2&3 will hit the same time Return to CONEH 1&2 get released?

There aren't plans for those currently. According to Troma they lose money on all their Blu-Rays (probably a good share sensationalist) so they really only put new ones out when there is considerable fan demand for it and even then, they really backed down on the whole Blu-Ray thing shortly after announcing their initial lineup back in 2010. They cancelled their Surf Nazis blu, which was one of their initial announcements.

Shame considering their blus for both Class of Nuke and Tromeo look pretty good (they sound awful though).

It'll be quite some time before Toxic Avenger comes to blu unless some new developments sprout up out of the blue.

I could probably come up with a better-informed list if I had a complete picture of what MGM currently owns. There are so many titles with rights up in the air that it would be almost foolish to even say "I'd like 'X' title". Someone will come along and say "they don't own that (anymore)". From the films I believe they DO own, I'd like to see:

1. Miracle Mile
2. The Earthling
3. Florida Straits
4. Audrey Rose
5. Radioactive Dreams. Not 100% sure if MGM still have the rights.

Plus, MGM absorbed so many film libraries from now long-defunct outfits that it's almost impossible to know what they actually own unless you're an insider. For instance, everyone assumed incorrectly that MGM had Without Warning. Nobody knows for sure (except, probably, Walter Olsen from Scorpion Releasing )

I think there are rights issues, but it is with MGM - it airs on the MGM HD channel - there is a snag somewhere - even Greydon Clark asked MGM to release it... maybe someone has put a claim, but Walter also denied having it in his Facebook thread
WW is still a mystery to me as is locating the rights owner to Fright Night II ( rumors with Lionsgate and Sony but nothing confirmed)

What do I want from MGM? Some of my top wants have apparent rights issues, such as BLOOD AND LACE, THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED, and UNHOLY ROLLERS with the original rock and roll soundtrack. So, I won't list those on my top 5 list, although they're actually my top wants.

THE VAMPIRE AND THE BALLERINA
TOMB OF LIGEIA
DEMENTIA 13 (with the original D-13 test sequence restored)
THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE on a stand-alone Blu-ray
GIRLS TOWN (1959, if still owned by MGM--it might be at Warner now?)

That is awesome!! Hopefully it gets a North American release sooner than later! One of my favorites when I was a kid. I have the DVD to tide me over.

Darnit! What are Assault on Precinct 13 and Night of the Comet doing at $27.98? They should be $19.99.

I don't know. I'm saving money by asking family members for Criterion releases though. That'll help me out some. My Uncle's list includes Repo Man, Videodrome, and Eating Raoul. My father's will probably have Fear and Loathing. I'm sure to get some Newbury Comics gift cards for X-Mas, and (if they get back to me) I may work there, so I might be able to get Comet or NOTD for nothing.

Also, is Bubba Ho-Tep worth a revisit? I've tried to watch it twice and got really really bored both times. I tried to read the short story and could not get past Page 3. But, I saw the DVD in an Elvis jacket up at 7-11 for a price that can't be beat. There were multiple copies, so I wouldn't get it until the holidays are over anyway.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy these. Slightly off-topic but I would love it if Shout could release Miracle Mile, that would be another day one buy for me.

I just pray that shout don't region lock ginger snaps. If they do I will have to go region free which will be pricey.

Due to the licensing contracts it will probably be region locked.

Well I'm stuffed then, unless I get a region free player or some sort of announcement by Arrow of their own version in the next few months.
