It's funny how people buzz around Scream Factory's thread listing obscure titles they hope get releases. I enjoy Scream Factory's line but they've plainly stated a motive to only release titles that will maximize profit (and even films like Psycho IV don't make the cut). It seems so much more likely your favorite cult favorite will come from Severin Films, Synapse Films, Scorpion Releasing, Kino/Redemption, Olive, Raro, Grindhouse Releasing, Blue Underground, Code Red, etc, etc. Scream Factory has a great catalog but leans more to shiny more popular films. I'd love to see Scream Factory embrace eccentric films like Arrow Films does but so far the indication is SF will likely stick to much more conservative picks (even just re-releasing the same transfer of a film as a previous release).

You have a point, but would you really call Deadly Eyes or The Evictors shiny, popular films?

I've said once and I'll do it again, Scream Factory has released a lot of obscure titles. Can you really call popular the following films? Deadly Eyes, X-ray, The Town that dreaded sundown, Saturn 3, The Evictors, Terrorvision, The Video Dead, Prison, The Island, Schizoid….

I'm no expert in the matter, but since SF released NINJA III, EVE OF DESTRUCTION, CRAWLSPACE and THE BEAST WITHIN, I would say that the people hoping/asking for obscure and unlikely titles are well within reason.

Its been 25 years since the release of DEEPSTAR SIX. People can now look back upon this last great 80s sci fi horror blend as a true CULT CLASSIC. Its getting there.....its a hidden gem I swear to god. When you have run out of EVERYTHING ELSE to watch in the genre this film is always waiting for you.

Scream Factory...where is my definitive HD blu ray copy of DS6?!?! The DVD was and still is horrendous...(as well as the film itself) but this is a hidden gem. Myself and the 18 other people on this entire planet who give a damn would be appreciative. Even Leviathan deserves a little blu.

Sadly I cant even tell if Im being sarcastic anymore about this.

That doesnt make them popular or mainstream, it just means genre fans of those films requested them.
Psycho and Halloween II are far more *popular* among general audiences ..
Even the Price films have some name value compared to the Evictors, Godsend, Eve of Destruction , the Vagrant (terrible film IMO) etc

Shocker
People Under the Stairs
Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight & Bordello of Blood
Waxwork
Critters 1 & 2
Children of the Night
Brainscan
Watchers
The Midnight Hour
Bad Moon
Silver Bullet
The Gate
Night of the Living Dead 1990
House 1 & 2
Cat's Eye
Vamp
Hellraiser 1 & 2
Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3
Cheerleader Camp
Silent Night, Deadly Night
Fright Night 1 & 2
Wishmaster
Slaughter High
Dead Alive
John Carpenter's Vampires
Candyman
Tales From the Hood

I second the TFTC movies, Brainscan, Vamp, Wishmaster, JC's Vampires, Candyman and Tales from the hood.

Don't get me wrong. These are all good movies but my 2nds would by my immediate purchases.

Yes, but I'm cetatain the rights are much cheaper on the more obscure. You throw out a poll in a forum like this and purchase some forgotten gems dirt cheap for a profit. Makes sense to me.

It is cheaper to get the more obscure but its a gamble about them profiting ..I hope they did. SF said Ninja III didnt do as well as they anticipated...

Excluding the opening sequence from the first Scream movie the series did nothing for me personally.

Oh Man I might get some heat for this but TCM 2 is one of those films I never really cared about checking out(only because of things I heard about it) but since Arrow just released this grand package in the UK I figured I would check it out. Oh man I absolutely hated it, not one thing was redeeming about it for me. What a fall off from the original. I know Hooper was going for something different and I thought it was supposed to have a comedic element too but that certainly alluded me. The whole movie was so all over the place, didn't even make hardly any sense half the time, and it felt like no effort at all was put into the film. Started off halfway promising but after 15 minutes in it was like a sinking ship that went down fast. But that is my opinion of course.

You must be new here. Charles Band is a sacred name over here. Shout's done quite a bit of his stuff.

From Empire:
From Beyond
TerrorVision
The Dungeonmaster
Eliminators
Prison
Vicious Lips
... The list goes on.

From Full Moon:
Oblivion
Crash and Burn
Robot Wars

Strange, I don't recall any Rififi references in the film. The Mangler, on the other hand, is straight-up peppered with Dassin homages.

I agree too. I hadn't seen it for a good ten years so figured I would get the new Arrow blu. Oh dear, I REALLY wanted to like it as Tobe Hooper has done some good stuff like THE FUNHOUSE, SALEM'S LOT, I even enjoyed his remake of TOOLBOX MURDERS. BUT. I couldn't even finish TCM2. Dennis Hopper was underused, I liked the start well enough and didn't mind some of the comedy. The whole film just got really dull about halfway through for me so I turned it off and promptly listed it on ebay... Feel free to bid on it

These are the ones on your list that I would really like.

With Critters 2 and House 2 I'm on the fence. Would need to watch them again first to see if I still like them. Haven't seen either of those two in years.

Hellraiser 1 & 2 I would only rebuy if the transfers were truly great. I'm not a transfer snob so I'm ok with the current Hellraiser release. I have the better version of the two that came out. Forgot which company it was under.
