The post in question shown below can be found here. Amazing set of covers by Nissen.

With a set like this the main challenge is to unify the artwork, where two decades separate the style of the theatrical posters. For that reason I went with the colourful international version of Die Hard 1 instead of the monochromatic U.S. poster. At the client's request the title treatments were homogenized to bring the very cohesion he and I were after. Actually, the hardest part of this particular job was finding a favourable critic's quote for the fifth film. In the end I cheated and cut of Richard Roeper in mid-sentence to slant it. I should have been in advertising!!

The client also asked that all specifics regarding extras and specs be omitted to make the covers compatible with all past and future releases.
It becomes a bit sticky with the "unrated" Live Free or Die Hard, as that cover mentions the PG-13 rating specifically. Also, the fifth cover mentions both the theatrical and extended version ratings, but only the theatrical runtime is listed. I'm usually a stickler for these things but I've reached Die Hard Burnout :-)

The client has asked me to share the set with all interested parties, so feel free to PM me for download links.

Just a quick question for the people that use the Marvel covers. If you use the TV versions would you prefer a single cover for Agent Carter that houses all 4 Disc in a single case or 2 separate covers for each season?

I am thinking of going with a single cover because it's only 4 disc for the entire series and I could make the cover the same size as all the other series and it would match up better.

Here are a couple of CBS Fox covers I have been wanting to finish for a while: Patton and Predator 2. There are two versions of the Patton cover, the only difference is the front artwork.

Patton version 1:

Patton version 2 (closer to the original vhs artwork):

Predator 2:

If anyone would like any of these covers, send me a PM.

I made a shitty one for Agent Carter that was a single cover for the complete series. Just seems to make sense that way, especially with how short the show was...

I love Nissen's Die Hard set, it made me finally get rid of the 4-disc space saver just to have them all on the shelf. I did this with his Lethal Weapon set as well.

I enjoy the first two. Both have replayability. I just wish I enjoyed 3-5 more

I made one for Colossal based on the theatrical poster, because the official cover is really bad.

I've been out of the cover game for quite a while (years in fact), so I'm not sure how you guys handle distributing your covers and stuff now. I'll probably tweak it a bit more and have a full res version available by the BD release date in a couple weeks, if anyone is interested.

Scrapped my other cover in favor of this going under the eventual slipcover.

Default topmeasure from EuphoricFX plagiarizes!

Okay guys, just venting here!
EuphoricFX seems to be a place for plagiarism.

Resident "EFX artist" Topmeasure is now officially in my doghouse!

Here's his NbNW-cover:

See anything similar to two of mine?

I just don't get it. Plain stealing of my back and spine! I don't think he even removed my credit from the small print. He certainly can put together a cover by himself, so why do this? The custom cover community is too small for this not to be noticed. I may be a bit overprotective, but as I put so much effort into these things, this sort of thing feels like a betrayal from a fellow artist. (I think I even sent him the original cover over at the AVSforum.)

Using the same poster for the front is fair game, but did he have to use the same title treatment as me, which doesn't even match the back/spine he stole. *shakes head*

Here's the original poster, BTW:

I tried emailing the "sysop" at EFX but my email was flagged as Spam and returned. According to their policy, uploading of other people's work is an automatic ban, so I'd love to hear what they say about this. From what I've heard, this sort of thing often gets swept under the rug, but I'm hoping Euphoric is too much of a class act to do that. I always used to respect that site and the community over there, but this gives me pause.

That is looking sexy so far. I wish I could bring myself to break up my Hitchcock set and display that, along with Nissens gorgeous covers. That would look awesome with the sequels.

Well... he DID stitch your two covers together, so he DID make it...

Yeah seriously though. That is frustrating as hell. I wouldn't be surprised if EFX sweeps it under the rug and ignores it, unless you hound them. Which shouldn't be necessary.

As far as I can tell, the cover has been deleted at EFX. One of the EFX mods is a member here, I don't know if he saw the post and took care of it, or if topmeasure deleted it himself.

In my experience, copying other peoples work is frowned upon at most cover sites, including EFX.

To be honest, I have never even tried to watch the 5th, but the first three are action classics IMO, particularly 1 and 3. Fourth is ok, has some good stunts.

Regarding my previous post about my cover being copied, I have now been in contact with both Topmeasure and EuphoricFX and the matter has been resolved.

Topmeasure has apologised to me for his error in judgement and I will speak no more of it.

Now it is time for an apology of my own.
I do admit that my suggestion that EuphoricFX turned a blind eye to plagiarism was harsh and uncalled for. Once they were made aware of the situation they remedied it immediately. EuphoricFX maintains that they were unaware of the similarities, and say they cannot be expected to be aware of my covers and monitor what members do with them. Naturally that was not what I meant either. I was just venting anger and didn't realise my post could be interpreted thusly. My approach was in no way diplomatic. I handled this clumsily, and laid bare both a prima donna attitude and a mean streak I am not proud of. I therefore apologise for dragging EuphoricFX's name through the mud.

Lesson learned; I will not implicate innocent third parties in my witch hunts in the future. (Also, don't type in anger.)

BUT...
While I don't expect anyone to sympathise or agree with my extremely low tolerance for work "inspired" by my covers, I want everyone to know that those of you who imitate my work too closely, I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger.

I apologise for this interruption and now return you to our regular programming.

Maybe, but I don't have access to actual Photoshop anymore. Only Corel and Gimp.
