Oh the ole fake Criterion craze, I'll never understand it...

That Strangers on a Train cover has nothing to do with the actual film, at least IMO.

And the day Criterion releases Horrible Bosses is the day they lose all taste and I stop collecting.

No offense but you're crazy if you think that Strangers on a train cover has nothing to do with the actual movie. Open your eyes.

Ya, thats been on my mind for awhile too.

I get custom covers, but I dont get why someone makes it a Criterion, unless its a custom of an already existing Criterion.

Does that 'C' mean so much to people?

I guess if someone wanted all the spines on thier movies to look the same, but then why not just work with a template that does that? Why does it have to wear the guise of a CC?

And ya, if Horrible Bosses EVER found its way to even a CC consideration, I would just hang myself.

Yeah, I don't get the fake Criterion covers either. But they're neat to see.

Don't forget that Armageddon was a Criterion Collection title.

Funny all the flack on the Criterion covers. I think they look pretty great.

I'm a Criterion collector, I've actually got all of the Blu-rays they've released. Their tastes are not 100% mine, but it's a great way to discover different movies that are outside the mainstream.

I bought and watched Horrible Bosses. There are better movies, but Criterion's released worse, I think. I would rather watch it than Tiny Furniture, but hey, that's my tastes.

I get why people want to design Criterion covers for their favorite movies, even if I don't get into that myself. Criterion has a cool design and they choose some very inspired covers that aren't so on-the-nose. The major studios keep putting out major catalog releases with forgettable Photoshop art or the same old covers, why wouldn't someone want to spice up their designs a little more? Also, as a die-hard Blu-ray fan with a collector's mentality, I've already got collection software where I can give my movies a "spine number." My biggest complaint about Criterion is they didn't restart their spine numbering from 1 when they launched Blu-rays, since we'll probably never get true Criterion Blu-rays of a quarter of their collection.

I like when Runners and others post their Criterion covers. Chances are his is the only Strangers on a Train custom cover anyone has posted. It's nice to see older movies get the attention.

I just gotta say this turned out pretty awesome, and it opens up a new avenue of design for me. I can now let loose on designing custom slipcovers as well!

There has been a lot of demand for printing and shipping of my covers, and I have only rarely been able to fulfill such requests. In association with Metrock, I now offer printing and shipping, in cases if required, of all my current and future custom work.

and, yes, that includes faux Criterion covers as well

Once again, these will all be shared, but I am holding off until all 9 are done, in case I have to go back and adjust something.

Card stock? With that the images would not be as clear. I use a photo supreme matte papper. This gives a decent thickness, good picture quality, and doesn't leave finger prints like a glossy finish would.

Sorry about the Horrible Bosses Criterion everyone. . I'm getting close to doing my whole collection in Criterion style and a lot of my comedies are going to be the last to go.

Incidentally, it's a mystery to me why I cant find any good artwork for Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I can find at least one neat poster for every movie so far but not for that one.

I'm tempted to pay them to do it, just to see if you have the balls to follow though with this.

I have no use for the Criterion covers myself, but they are really nice to see.

Another lovely cover Nissen. I noticed that while the picture of Sean Connery's face is the same on the UE DVD cover his outfit is different (he has a white tuxedo), and his eyes are brown. Connery's eyes are quite off-puttng!

I incorporated Imrahil's suggestion for the TT on the cover:
