Pretty sure they knew what was going on. Also they had bolt cutters so I'm pretty sure they just cut the chains and then walked the herd to the outpost.

Since Walkers are on the constant search for food Daniel just had to walk. Or they could have just jumped in the truck and drove real slow. Like a real life herd, when one starts walking it gets the attention of all of them and then they all start doing it.

The first 3 episodes were a real struggle for me to get into, however, the last 3 were pretty good. I really enjoyed the finale. I am now cautiously optimistic for next season.

The same way
[Show spoiler]Shaun did out side the Winchester. "Over here, over here, over here!!"

I don't know, but if that was the agreed upon plan instead of just Daniel's doing, it makes the entire group look like jerks.
[Show spoiler]How many people died as a result of unleashing a herd on the compound?

[Show spoiler]Liza
clearly got
[Show spoiler]bit
on the
[Show spoiler]arm
in the kitchen.
I guess they decided to move the
[Show spoiler]bite
to
[Show spoiler]her belly
so as not to have the
[Show spoiler]rest of the characters
notice until later.

They should have moved
[Show spoiler]her body
to the ocean, instead of just leaving
[Show spoiler]her
there to be discovered by
[Show spoiler]Chris
, which is what
[Show spoiler]she
didn't want
[Show spoiler]him
to see.

I wanted everyone except for
[Show spoiler]her
to be
[Show spoiler]killed off
...

The opening City shot, while it looked really cool, was really stupid. It hasn't been all that long since the power went out. Most of those buildings have generators. There should have been SOME lights on!

How was it that in less than a week, the Army had a super heavy-duty fence built up around that section of town, yet when it came to fortifying the area they fell back to, which was clearly already in use for a long time, they had a wimpy, cheap fence that gets knocked down right away?

Discussing a TV show on a discussion board created to discuss TV shows in a thread about said show? You're right; makes no sense!

Anyway, I liked the conclusion for the most part... I agree, the degree to which the military could/ couldn't cope throughout this whole series seemed a bit off. Like, we watched all of
[Show spoiler]season 3(?) with the little group of survivors holding up in the prison very successfully, with the huge horde of zombies outside the chain link fence, but the big, heavily armed military unit in an almost identical situation totally crumbled?
I also wasn't a huge fan of
[Show spoiler]the beach-front paradise home
at the end, but I was glad to see
[Show spoiler]a couple characters finally go
, at least, though it might've made more sense for
[Show spoiler]them to lose people during the action than the final post-climatic ending
.

You know what I'd really like to see for FtWD season 2 is if they just started again with a whole new group of people in a whole new locale instead of following this family further. Every season could be a look at more people experiencing the world crumbe and the on-set of zombies, especially since FtWD as it will be now just promises to be sort of a "light" version of the main TWD, which is underwhelming. And I'm not exactly on the edge of my seat about
[Show spoiler]how will Nick's mom continue to score him meth?

They let the zombie hordes in to kill all the innocent families? That doesn't fit with Mom and Dad's personalities... makes them seem like scumbags...

The scene where they all get reunited in the hospital and the drug kid gets miraculously saved - TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SCRIPTING - oh and they really missed the chance to have an epic death scene with mom watching her son get eaten alive through the window. Not that would have been epic.

Mom saying "who the hell are you" to the black guy... not really in character. It felt fake and lame.

But the good news is they can live on the boat and be completely safe. Really no need for season 2

Felt this really lacked decent writing. It's not a terrible show/season but certainly nowhere near TWD level of drama. It feels like a 'b-movie' type of show to me and very soap opera-ish too.

There seems to be no main character either (it is supposed to be Madison? Nick? Travis?).

While I can easily suspend belief with TV/film and don't like to look for plot holes, etc some of the stuff that happened was just over the top silly/unbelievable.

The Army in this location seemed to get overrun very easily/quickly. You would think their actual base where the doctors were would have tough fencing, yet that small horde pushed it down with ease and in very quick time too. Did anyone else notice that it was night time when it kicked off, yet when the gang got out it was bright and early morning!

Jumping the 9 days and all of a sudden there appeared a fenced community was a bit suspect too. That time jump ruined it for me because I thought the whole point of this series was to show how it started and got progressively worse, not to show a tiny bit of the start of the outbreak and then skip ahead.

Where the story is at now is the exact same point that started the main show, where they're on the run to find a safe place, they also have all the knowledge already (they're dead, everyone comes back, headshot kills, etc). I can't see the 2nd season being any different to TWD's 2nd season (for an example), they'll probably be on the boat for half or most of it and then it becomes unsafe and so on...

This show is watchable but pales in comparison to the main show and it just doesn't have enough uniqueness going for it to make it something better.

I just hope the main show doesn't suffer because it's the same team of people doing both so hoping they don't get burnt out.

The only thing I have to ask, is what was up with the rubble at the beach house? Is it a real location.. almost looked like some of the ground had collapsed into the ocean, or it was re-claimed land from a skate-park?

Yeh, I wanted to see how everything fell apart. Now what we have is The Walking Dead: Los Angeles.

Because no matter what fence or fortifications they had, a herd of over TWO THOUSAND Walkers was going to overtake them either way.

Did you people not pay attention to how many there were? Rick and company have never faced that many at one time in their series so far. Not even close. Even Daniel admitted that the plan worked to get them in, but they very likely wouldn't get back out.

The only thing I didn't like about the final was
[Show spoiler]that they didn't even seem to try to warn the other families. I mean, Chris says "yeah we already know, the military is just loading up and leaving" implying everyone can see it. I have a hard time thinking none of the other families would have taken the hint and tried to leave. That was really poorly done. They probably just didn't have the budget to film more panic.

The Faculty guy got what was coming to him, and Daniel read him spot on. It was great seeing Travis beat his teeth down his throat. I think we're going to see Travis really evolve over the next season. It'll be very interesting. I was sad that Liza was the one that bit it, but her death will advance the plot at least, unlike Beth from the mothership show. It did annoy me that she said "don't let Travis do it" then maddie immediately gave the gun to Travis. Like... The hell Maddie? I also feel like we missed a few scenes, especially with Chris and Alisha, who go from "oh shit she might get raped and he's knocked out" to both of them just chilling in the parking garage like nothing happened. There's a scene or two on the cutting room floor. I would put money on it.

Strand is a great character, and I'm glad they didn't just off him right away as tends to be TWD's desire to do with anyone not from the early seasons. Abigail leads to the possibility of some interesting change of scenery too. That, combined with learning more about strand, is more than enough for me to want to watch next season. I also happen to like almost all the characters on this show. People really seem to forget where TWD characters started, and how watching that show was originally too. We had all the same complaints. I swear if I have to hear how "slow" the farm was one more time.... Not to mention, the characters weren't even close to what they are now with that show too.

She was referring to an earlier conversation where Madison mentioned that if she were to turn herself, that she wanted Liza to kill her instead of Travis. Liza wanted the same in return.

The farm was the best season for me. I don't mind slow at all, as long as it's interesting. I'll admit the love triangle in that season was very soap-ish but the
[Show spoiler]transformation of Shane
was well worth it. It was also the start of showing how the humans are more of a threat than the undead.

Especially Travis. This is also the lazy/poor writing I am referring to. The character of Travis prior to his beat down of the soldier is not like this at all. I have to watch this episode again...

Yes I noticed and I was like, huh. It would have taken two seconds to show someone in the group look down at their watch to have the watch read 5:30 AM. As for the show being too far down the line in sync with TWD I am going give show runner the benefit of the doubt. I am sure this has been discussed and storyboarded. I would imagine either at the finale of S2 or somewhere towards the end of S2 FEAR will start to align with TWD. There's still plenty enough story to tell in between.

I actually think the Main cast is the 2 siblings - Nick and Alicia. Itsabout their relationship. secondary characters is their mother and stepdad.

It's a real location. They even mentioned it in Talking Dead that the same locale was used for a few scenes in the Entourage movie.
My guess is that at some point in time the land did cave into the ocean, as that is bound to happen anywhere land meets water, given enough time and depending on conditions.

So, for those of you that watched Talking Dead:

[Show spoiler]I'm thinking Fear might be the best character introduction in the history of TV, when this group meets up with Rick & Company, as the show merges into TWD. Definitely liked how Madison said to head East. I'm assuming the boat, while nice, won't last that long. If the show merge theory hold, the only way they could get to the East Coast would be through Panama, and I'm not sure how many nautical miles that would be and if they have enough fuel(and fuel stops) to complete it. Even if they made it to the Gulf, it would save a massive amount of time having to traverse through the desert then Rockies.
What if Madison is Shane's sister?
