Other than that, nothing I can think of off the top of my head except maybe for the NextGen TV Hub with ATSC 3.0 and the previously mentioned Ultra HD Forum demos.

Kind of all depends on what your personal interests are, e.g. if you’ve got an Exhibits Pass + Session 3-Pack, this Game of Thrones session might be entertaining -

If you're able to (and not double booked like me) try to support fellow Insider Robert by attending his presentation.

I would absolutely love to, but since this is part of the paid sessions pack, I had to cut corners somewhere. I'm going the el cheapo route with a show floor pass I aquired for free. Definitely will take you up on the offer next time when my new business is booming.

Maybe we'll bump into each other on the convention floor or during a Blue Man Group show.

Free and open to all, upcoming Special edition SMPTE webcast - https://www.smpte.org/special-edition-webcast includes “how to assess content and display characteristics using knowledge from human perception in order to optimize content presentation”. In that Timo’s bio box is empty at this time, I’ll give readers a little background as to his interests/research, e.g. with regards to human perception and the instantaneous dynamic range of the HVS, I’ve referred to Timo’s previous work awhile ago on this forum during discussion with Geoff….

Tyler, you silver tongued devil you…..http://calman.spectracal.com/nab-promotion.html
Lots of folks I know will want to see CalMAN 2017 version in action at your booth at the show….esp. if it’s teamed up in a demo calibrating Dolby Vision on a 2017 LG oled TV.

TravelXP is also HLG, and it also plays in HDR on my TV (although I had to convert it to MP4 for it to play.)

Samsung did say they would update the TVs to support HLG, so it looks like they kept their word. I wonder if we also got an HDR10 Plus update secretly as well.

Anyone know any other HLG videos online?
Just to revisit this, HLG YouTube video plays in HDR on my Samsung. HLG support now definitely confirmed (through USB and streaming.)

This article brings up something interesting about HLG:

Quote:
All that any HLG-compatible TV at home needs to be aware of is its own technical capabilities and of the environment the content is being viewed in.

This latter point is a big deal. HLG has the ability to alter the HDR image based on the viewing environment – light room, dark room, even specific brightness levels measured in nits. This feature makes HLG fundamentally different from HDR 10, and potentially could offer everyone a far more satisfying viewing experience.

Is this accurate? If so, how is this achieved?

By an approximate equation and some expectant gamma adjustability on the part of consumer TVs, see timestamp 24min. 45sec. of this presentation - https://tv.theiet.org/EmbedPlayer.html?id=6846#t=00:16
which I posted about a year prior to the publication of that reporter’s article.

Interesting.

I keep all of the ECO settings off on my TV, including the ambient light detection, but I assume that specific setting needs to be on for HLG content to adjust to my viewing environment?
