Default Do you rent or buy?

How do you get your BD movies? Buy, rent or both?
If you rent, where do you get your BD from?
If you do both, do you get more movies from renting or buying?

I rent exclusively, mainly because I have encountered very few movies that I want to watch more than once. Moreover, I am too poor to shell out 15 to 20 bucks per movie. I got my movies from Netflix. Even with recent hike, I could rent at 92 cents per movie which is much cheaper than 5 bucks for new movies that Blockbuster charge at their brick and mortar store.

Renting here isn't really an option, so I buy.

I buy, but recently I've been renting because my budget is tight. I've been going to Red Box and use codes so the movies are free.

Cool and I heard you on the tight budget. I've never heard of Red Box.

I'm not sure if red boxes are everywhere, but i think they started in Wal-Marts mostly. It's just this big red box like a huge vending machine. They usually only have the "hits" but it's only a dollar to rent. I haven't seen any that sell blus yet, but it's my wife that usually hits it up for her romantic comedies or movies for the kids. No biggee to me if that's not bluray.

I used to buy a lot more than I do now. I've got a few movies that I don't really regret buying, but at the same time I don't think I would buy them if the choice was to be made now. I use Blockbuster for rentals, even though half of my queue has some sort of a wait, but the in store rentals are nice. I'm thinking of switching to the unlimited in store deal, nixing the online/delivery part altogether, but it's almost double what I'm paying now. I used to be into the collecting aspect a lot more, but my desire for that part of it has faded significantly.

i was renting for the longest time, then prices really started to plummet on blus so i started buying. i can buy about 7 to 10 blus a week for what i was spending weekly to rent. yes, i rented alot of movies.

I only rent DVDs through Netflix, but I buy Blu ray. Usually the movies I buy are my favorites that I plan to keep as part of my collection.

Its a blessing that I still work part time at our local movie gallery store, so I bring home my movies before they hit street, then If i really like what I see I'll wait and buy the blu once I find a good deal on it!

If I'd bought "Into the Wild" I would've been pissed.

I'm glad I rented it.

95% of the time I just buy even if I've never seen it before and 95% of the time I like what I get. However there are a few titles that I'll rent first (Wolverine & Salvation for example when they are released), because I'm not to certain about them.

I rent movies I want to see on HD but I would never watch again like Spirit, Punisher Warzone etc. I buy movies that are either cataolog or movies that were amazing and a must have like Dark Knight.

Saves me money and the pain of having a movie taking up shelf space that I wouldn't touch again.

I rent and buy.
Rent from BB in store for $29.99 per month to get two movies out at a time. Since I usually do two a day, but can't always manage, it works out to around $.55 or $.60 per movie.
I buy mainly my favorite movies, but I only buy if I can score at least 45% off MSRP. Occasionally I will buy movies that aren't my favs if it is a great deal and I know I'll be able to trade in the future for something I really want.
