My apologies if this has been covered but I cannot find any resolution--
I have the Costco BDX-1 (Sony 350) blu-ray player and for the first time-- I cannot play a blu-ray-- The T2 Skynet edition-- it takes a very long time to load-- I finally get the menu to select which movie version I want, it brings up the Studio Canal screen and then simply freezes 23 seconds into it-- Is this movie not possible to watch unless you have a profile 2.0 player or will a firmware upgrade (already requested this morning from Sony) make this disc playable. I see user comments here saying "I have no problem watching this disc" or "it won't play" but none of them tell WHAT kind of player they have or offer any resolutions (that I can find anyway) help?? |

do you mean a BDP-BX1?
if so...make sure you have the latest firmware v13 or 15, i don't remember the number, is what i had. its up to 19 now though i think it should play even though it takes a hell of a long time to load i played it on my BDP-BX1 a couple weeks back before i sold it and it played fine Last edited by Diesel; 06-13-2009 at 08:43 PM. |

yes, that's the model I meant. I ordered the latest firmware this morning from Sony-- so you think that will solve the issue? Did you upgrade the firmware on yours I'm assuming? I have never done a firmware upgrade on this model and have had it for over a year... also-- may I ask-- are you upgrading to a newer model? |

so you're still running the software it shipped with? thats v07 i believe v10 activates bd-live capabilities if your interested in that v15 will allow you to play T2, but if you requested it from sony they will probably send you v19 which is the most recent (just checked to make sure) you could burn it onto a disc you know instead of waiting for sony to get it to you. i was perfectly happy with my player, but i decided to buy a PS3 to start gaming again and figured i didn't need the BX1 anymore so i sold it to a friend of mine for $150 |
