AAC/MP4 has always been supported. It's usually Windows Media Player that causes people to think it isn't supported when streaming because WMP still doesn't support the AAC/AVC formats by default.

I installed the media server on my PC, however, when the program initially starts up it states that it cannot contact the PS3. I have turned on the SSDP Discovery Service on the PC, forced the IP address of the PC and the network card on the computer, allowed UPnP devices on the router, enabled the Media server on the PS3, checked the network settings on the PS3 and did a successful connection test which stated that UPnP was available. Whenever I search for media servers on the PS3 it states that none were found.
I have a Belkin N1 Vision router and I cannot find the settings for Port Forwarding to ensure that port 5001 is allowed. I am at a point where I am scratching my head saying "what next?" Any ideas? ![]() Last edited by ZMan; 06-19-2009 at 01:18 PM. |

What I would do is just get one of those adaptar cables that will plug into your Ipod on one end and into your PS3 on the other. That's what I do for my MP3 player (except I actually just plug it into my receiver -- which is another thing you could do)

I did this and it works. Just copy paste your music or playlist directly from iTunes to an external hard drive from your computer then plug it into your ps3, go to music and click on external hard drive and press triangle and view all and albums and icons appear for all of the songs and you just press x and they will play

If you use a HDD it needs to be FAT32.
Its better if you put all your folders in a directory called MUSIC (caps on). That way you don't need to press triangle and sort through file types. You can press X and it filters it for you. You can do the same thing for - PICTURES (can't remember if the S on the end is required or not). VIDEO Thats what I do. But it will only work for files that the PS3 recognizes. Why does everyone want to play stuff through the PS3 anyway? I can understand video and pictures, but music? You can just plug your Ipod or phone into an amp. |
