Default Un46b8000

Hey guys i just bought this tv is was a return from brandsmart. brandsmart has a 5 day return policy and the guy that was returning the tv had it for 4 days. the reason he returned the tv was because the remote didnt work . he didnt know if it was the tv or the remote. I talked to a manager and he gave it to me for $1899. I brought it home set it up and since i have a LN52A750 i used that remote on the 46B8000 and it worked. I just called samsung and they say i should get a new remote in 5 to 10 business days. What do you guys think ? was it a good buy ??? or should i have gone for the 46XBR9 ???? a new 46XBR9 was $2150... what do you guys think ???? i have 5 days to return it if i change my mind.

Definitely keep the un46b8000. The picture is incredible on this TV. The xbr9 isn't what they used to be. Picture quality just isn't there compare to the xbr8. Design wise I would go for the Samsung. In fact the Samsung is better in every way. 5 million contrast ratio, 2 ms screen, it's thin, and it's led compare to the non led Sony. I say keep it. Plus you got a good price on it.

Keep it. Fantastic PQ

I purchased the 55B8000 a few weeks ago and I also had to get a new remote from Samsung. The first would not work. What is up with that?

After buying numerous open item TVs from Best Buy, I only had one issue with a set (Plasma burn in). I returned it with no questions asked.

Brandsmart is a great place to buy open item TVs from, keep in mind, the 5 day return policy applies only if you change your mind. If there is a problem with the set, or like Samsung not sending a working remote, you have 30 days,

By the way, which Brandsmart did you go to, South Miami?

Either way, the B8000 is a far superior set than the XBR9 (though it's no slouch).

Do they normally have a good selection of open/returned items?

The one in South Miami usually does, and at pretty good prices. They once had a like-new 52A750 for $1299, an Onkyo TX-SR706 for $400 and the salesman was willing to sell me the just released UN55B7000 for <$3000 (decided on the 55A950 but still would've been a sweet deal).
