Default Watchmen Questions.

I watched Watchmen and loved it but I have a few questions.

How does Rorschach's inkblots on his mask move?

Why does Dr. Manhattan wear no clothes? Like i've seen him wear clothes and sometimes just underwear.

Who would win Dr. Manhattan or Superman. I think that Dr. Manhattan is the only person that could truly kill Superman. He could just make Superman explode. [I know I just answered my own question but I want to know what you think.]

It's his disassociation with the human race, he becomes a higher being and less connected with humanity.

Does it matter?

As far as Rorschach's mask. If I remember correctly he use to work in a clothing store. A rich woman ordered a special dress from a certain designer. The ink marks moved around and made different shapes based on the person's emotions. Turned out she didn't want it. She thought it was ugly. So he took it and made a mask out of it.

Sucks that part wasn't in the movie.

Ever since that accident on Gila Flats, Dr. Manhattan has felt too isolated from everyone he meets, and has accepted the fact that he is beyond human. So, he is always nude for the majority of the novel and the film, because he's just becoming something else; like a god.

According to the Comedian, he also "doesn't give a damn about humans".

More acurately, it helps to show his psychology. His consciousness is evolved far beyond that of any mortal being on Earth. As such, he has no need to trifle with the notion of vanity or self-image and therefore only adheres to such notions for the sake of human beings when those around him may be offended by the sight of him in his purest state.

That's one thing I love about the content of the Graphic Novel and the film. The themes of human limitations are bountiful. Alan Moore really brings some serious human flaws to the surface of his work. There are so many things the we humans put into our perspectives that limit our abilities to look at what is really important in life.

I agree...awesome stuff....such a deep story...I wish I would have read the Graphic Novel years ago insted of a month before the movie release...

And yes the mask was from a "mood" dress that shifted according to body tone..

Manhattan is not only disconnected from the human race, he does not feel temperature and doesn't see the reason why he would need to wear anything.

Yeah, it was from a "Dr. Manhattan spin-off" fabric (whatever that means) in a dress for a woman that decided she didn't want it. It was two layers of fabric with a fluid between that was heat and pressure sensitive. Rorschach took it and made a mask.

Of all the parts they left out of the movie, that part was pretty important...when I saw the movie I kept wondering why his inkblots were moving.

Also it is implied that the women that wanted to purchase the dress but found it disgusting is Kitty Genovese. She is who inspires Rorschach to be a vigilantie

I thought it was important also. I was hoping it would be in the Director's Cut but it doesn't look like it. So it looks like it won't be in the Ultimate version.

Hey!? Thats a good question to ask Zack Snyder tonight.
