Default Going to my first NFL football game on 09/13/09 in Seattle

Hey all, so I'm celebrating my birthday on 09/13/09 by going to the Seattle Seahawks home opener vs. the St. Louis Rams!

I live in BC Canada and haven't been to Seattle in several years. What can I expect? Is it worth going hours before the game starts to see if I can get in on some tail-gate action? Are there any secrets I should know?

I honestly have no clue! haha We're going the day before, don't have any plans yet for Saturday. Any attractions I should check out? I'm thinking Experience Music Project could be cool. I remember checking out the Space Needle when I was a kid, can't imagine I'd be too thrilled by that...i could be wrong though!

Additional interests for your info: i love movies obviously, i enjoy a variety of foods (steak, halibut, indian currie, a tasty burger, sushi, chicken, etc), obviously into technology like mobile phones, home theater....beer, can't get enough beer, mostly into light ales, but venturing into dark stuff like guinness. my buddy is driving us down...not sure which hotel we're staying at...any recommendations on something reasonable? We're staying one night, 09/12/13 and driving home after the football game.

That seems like a great stadium. It just looks cool. I have yet to go to an NFL game. I live a fair distance either way from the Texans or Cowboys and don't care much for either but even if I wanted to, it'd be almost impossible to get them. So have fun for me too, alright?

I haven't went to an NFL game yet. The nearest i could go would be to see the Buffalo Bills .

You could go visit Seattle, take some pictures,go see some museums.

Go seee the Football Stadium

Seattle stinks, no offense. So much stale water and old fish. Going to a Cowboys game myself on the 21st, will be a long drive there and back. Figuring I'll take a few DVD seasons along to help make the drive go by quicker, I'll have to schmooze the parents a bit to borrow their porty player.

LOL I have some from the last game I went to, just no way to put them online without the master prints. My father is like you by the way, he claims the Cowboys' cheerleaders are his favourite NFL team.

Just remind him that while they did get Stephen Jackson, we got Julius Jones that year and Ware with the pick we got for trading down. That should shut him right up.

I'm going to have to ask you to step outside.

Check out the Pike Place Market, Space needle is cool because of the view it offers of the Puget Sound (which does not stink) and the crazy music building. Can't beat Seattle Fans. You will have a blast. Tailgate parties are fun. The Stadium is nice in the early part of the season. By November, it gets some very cold winds blowing off the Sound. Have Fun!!!

Make sure to drink plenty of beer. And enjoy! Football games are fun! much better than going to a baseball game but not as much fun as a basketball game.

Nothing matches a football game. Every game is huge. I love college basketball games but they don't compare to the all day event a football game is. I prefer college football games, from tailgating at 6 in the morning to closing the bars at 2 am, but NFL games are great too.

Baseball games make me sleepy, and if it wasn't hot I'd most likely sleep during the game. I have yet been to a NBA game and I'd like to go someday.

If you make it an all day event and tailgate properly then yeah, a football games rules. But just going to a game a basketball game would be more fun.

It's a shame that all the college football games are dry now.

yes the tailgating makes it better than just going to a basketball game but i was just refering to the game itself

I'd still choose a football game because each game is so huge. If you lose a basketball game it isn't a huge deal but if you lose a football game it could cost you the division (and in college football a shot at a national title).
