Question The Orphanage - red blacks?

This is the only BD that I've seen this on, and I've watched almost 200 (mostly Netflix, for those that check my meager collection!) In a very few scenes in The Orphanage, the deepest blacks were a deep crimson red. It looked like black crush, but red, and solid, not a gradient, once it went to the red. Anyone ever notice this before on any movie?

Yes, my TV also makes some of the blacks in this movie appear red-colored. It's the only blu-ray I own that has this affect.

SDon, have you had your tv professionally calibrated? I haven't yet (flame on?!?) but I've never had a problem before.

This title really had me scratching my head. A lot of people on here said that there wasn't an issue... I am starting to think it's because people turn their brightness down to far.

More recently I've started noticing blue-ish blacks on certain titles (Year One and The Proposal... at least I think it was The Proposal). It's no where near as noticable as The Orphanage though.

No I have not, but I did use the Samsung Settings thread here on this site to help me get it looking real good. Since only this one blu-ray does this, I have basically just let it go.

There is no doubt that there are hues of red in some of the very dark scenes. Most notable the scene in the "dark room". It has nothing to do with a tv's settings.
