Default Would you like FYE to start carrying Blu-ray SteelBooks™?

Trying to get a gauge on format support for FYE, I know they carry DVD Steels but we would love to get some exclusive Blu-ray Books
Currently there is no one selling them in the US except the empty Steels that BB has offered(no movie inside)

Anyways, yes or no
Opinions and Feedback are always a plus

but of course!!!!...I walked into FYE a few days ago and saw Transformers 2 SB, GI Joe SB, etc, etc... and I was like, WTF!!!!

(BTW, I guess 'cuz I'm use to bluray sized cases, those steels looked kind of funny being so long)

I would love them to change that and get BLU RAY SB'S!!!! Hopefully they change and see the new interest is Bluray, not DVD

Sure, I could drive to my local one after work. It would save a few $$$ too.

It would be nice to have somewhere LOCAL that I could drop by and pick up a release.

Absolutely, a local option is always better than trying to deal with importing and paying highter prices.

I wonder who said No and why though?

I'm in, but I have not bought a BD from there because of their high prices. If it's reasonable.. I'm in!

Hell yes..the GI Joe steelbook was awesome looking.

If Best Buy can't carry the torch, I hope FYE could.

I voted no becuase I would need to drive down to BUffalo to grab them LOL

It all depends on what Studio releases them. If they are different movie releases than Canadian FS releases, it'll be good as we'll get alot of variety of steelbooks.

You guys ahve to udnerstand the cdn market is alot smaller than the US in terms of retail sales. For sales of a movie for north america, canada probably is only 10% of that. WIth CDN steelbook releases, they keep production run low so they wont sit. That is one reason why steelbooks keep their value since there is smaller #s out there.

The thing is, with the US market so big, the production run would be high and thus saturating the market with tons of steelbooks. That would make them less exclusive.

Based on the prices that FYE normally charges...it would be cheaper to buy them from another country and have them shipped next day air to my doorstep.

Okay not that bad but I am sure they would be $40 minimum.

I paid 25.99(actually 23.13, i got that 10% off card) for the 2 disc GI Joe SteelBook and TF2:ROTF and the going rate for the amaray counterparts are very close ($19.99 @WM for TF2 and 22.86 for GI Joe)

I disagree that its "exclusively sold at FYE". I got my T.W.E.C. steelbooks not at FYE but at Suncoast and Secondspin
ok, fine, You win!! My thread, I titled it like I wanted it No need for further discussion over the title

The obvious answer is Yes! I have 2 FYE stores within 10 miles of my home & it would be lovely to be able to drive to one & pick up a Steelbook™ on release day. For those who question the pricing....simply don't buy if it's too expensive for you. Don't limit the choices for others because of your own cheapness...

Easy for you to say. You can buy them for retail. We in the U.S. would like that option.

I should hook you up with a buddy of mine in Toronto who is always driving down to the States to pick up the latest action figures from Toys R Us and Target.

So this brings me to an earlier point as to "Why do you collect SteelBooks?".

I couldn't care less if everyone had an IRON MAN or JOHN RAMBO or whatever. I am only interested in what I like and the 'collectibility' of them is secondary.

I have no interest in JOHN RAMBO, and if I had one, I would trade it in a heartbeat for an IRON MAN. And that is even if the whole world had IRON MANs.

In ten years, these will all likely be recycling material for me.

Even though I am Canadian and would love for you guys to get acces to some cheap steels, I have the same reasoning, if markets that size are flooded, then it takes away from the collectability value, hence not as special.

If though they are different releases, then hell yeah as we canadians do pay top dollar too for releases from France and Germany already. Yes we're very lucky with FS but we still have to import tons and pay for them richly and I don't mind that, it just makes the whole thing even more exclusive.
