I was watching the new Harry Potter movie and heard the rear surrounds producing sound(6th and 7th speakers). The settings are all correct from PS3 to Onkyo 605. Why is that coming through? Settings are through HDMI and Linear PCM on the PS3. I recently changed my settings on speakers on the 605 from Normal to Bi-Amp on speakers settings menu. Thanks for the help and advice.

So you have your rear channels plugged in still but your receiver is set to bi-amp? Shouldn't the speaker wire from your rear channels be plugged into your 2 main speakers then? Not sure if that would mean you are getting some of the sound that should be going to your front speakers, in the rear speakers. Usually when you Bi-amp a 7.1 receiver you turn it into a 5.1 receiver. Hope that is accurate.
