Bloody car won't start :( - Blu-ray Forum

I don't think it's the battery. I turn the key and the engine doesn't respond, then the battery comes on, albeit while the battery light is also on.

It's probably the battery, if you don't hear it try to turn over.

Change the battery. If there's still a problem it's probably the starter or alternator..

Check the terminals first, could be that simple. My truck wouldn't turn over a few months ago and I went to pull the battery. The terminals were completely corroded over. Ten minutes of work and the battery was fine.

This sounds like what happened to me once. The last car I owned had an anti-theft feature. I don't know how it was tripped, but when I put the key in and turned it, nothing happened. This was shortly after I got the car too. I had AAA tow it to the shop thinking something was seriously wrong. Later that day when they called and said it was ready to pick up, I asked them what was wrong. They told me about the feature. Luckily, they didn't charge me anything. What I had to do to fix the problem was stick the key in the ignition and leave it for 15 minutes and then it would start. It happened again months later and I knew how to fix it.

good call, that's actually exactly what it was. Guess I totally freaked out for nothing.

take it to pepboys and they have this battery cleaning special for like $10, , and also install some new parts that will prevent corrosion in the future, they'll get rid of all that gunk for you and your shouldnt have that problem anymore
