Default My Bloody Valentine 3D

I rented yesterday My Bloody Valentine mainly because I was crious about the 3D version, WOW, it couldn't suck more. I used the glasses it comes with and you see everything purple, ghosting and not much 3D. Does anyone know if with the good glasses will look much better?

I was surprised by how good it looked in 3D. I do watch is on a 106" projector screen, so it might look best on larger displays/screens. One trick is to pump up the contrast and colors. You will them (somewhat) counteract some of the negative sides of the red/green glasses.

That little "trick" gave me the colors back (to a degree), and the 3D effect was amazing throughout the entire movie.

Yeah, home video releases of 3D films are disappointing. The 3D for this film in the theater was amazing.

Back in the 80's "7-11 glasses" days of experimenting with red/blue broadcast, they would open with putting up a "test screen" letting you adjust your tint to the right shade of blue.
("Adjust color balance until both halves of the screen are the same color".)

If they're still using color-based systems, we could use a few of those included on the bonus menu, but I'll try pumping up the contrast for a start.

I already returned it to blockbuster so I couldn't give it a try with the high contrast trick, maybe I'll rent it again later on. I'm just dissapointed overall.

My library got the 2D version of the film on DVD and I watched it over the weekend and it looked VERY AND I MEAN VERY SPEEDED UP. I was trying so hard to enjoy it but the whole
[Show spoiler]ending where it was all in his head and he was the killer
was complete bulls*** in my opinion.

I think the "good glasses" use a different technology and will not work in the home theater yet.

Yeah, that's my understanding.
