Default Titan A.E.

Titan A.E is one movie I wish would make it to blu, but Im afraid that it will be a while since it didnt do too well in theaters back in the day. This movie blew me away for animation when I saw it and I think it would make an amazing bluray. The dvd of this movie is really poor and does the movie no justice. Anyone else want to see this released on blu?

Ya I saw it in theatre too. I loved the animation thought it was amazing. The dvd wasn't that bad the dolby track had some serious bottom end. I ran the part with the the ice rings over and over shaking the house apart.I know 3 other people who would buy it in a heart beat on blu.

I didn't like it at first because they compared it to the Matrix and Star Wars but if they put it on blu-ray I'd get it for the right price.

The film is very poor and doesn't do Blu-ray justice.

Sorry, but what on earth is that supposed to mean? That only "perfect" movies can do Blu-Ray "justice"? Considering that everyone has a different likes and dislikes, there would be very few movies that would qualify for Blu-Ray. (Even Citizen Kane has its detractors.) Or do you mean that it will not look "good" enough? Does that mean that only movies with "perfect" picture quality are acceptable for Blu-Ray? That would disallow some the of greatest movies ever made.

Blu-Ray is the medium, not the message. The goal with a Blu-Ray release should be to do justice to the original film, good, bad, 70mm, or 16mm. Some of my favorite Blu-Ray discs to date have been for underappreciated low-budget films like John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13. On Blu-Ray, the movie looks as good as it possibly can (and better than any other version of the film that I have seen.) It will never look like Transformers, but it will always be a vastly superior film.

Regarding Titan: AE, while it may not be a masterpiece, I have always thought that it was underrated, and it would be fun on Blu-Ray. In fact, it could make some very strong demo material.

It was an okay movie, but...
Wouldn't it have been so much better if someone BESIDES the "Anastasia" director had done an animated movie for Fox the year before, and been handed the studio-limbo'ed project to finish?

(Well, take it back--We're lucky it wasn't the "Ferngully" or "Pagemaster" directors doing a Joss Whedon hard-sci-fi piece.
But still...Don freakin' "Secret of NIMH", "Thumbelina" Bluth??
I'd joke that the Disney "Little Mermaid" directors could do a better job directing an animated sci-fi piece, until I realized...they did.)

I'm a big Don Bluth fan and was really disappointed by this movie after rewatching it recently. I knew it didn't leave any impression on me when I saw it in theaters as a kid. It just tries to be big on special effects and nothing else; too bad those effects are not amazing anymore and the scenes showing them off are so stretched out it becomes too much of a bore.

Lol.

It wouldn't take much to put together a respectable Blu-ray release of this film. The original computer files (I assume something similar to Disney's CAPS system was used to colour it) could be used to make a perfect transfer and there are some good bonus features that were already made for the previous DVD release.

Someone at Fox just has to green light the idea.

This is a very underrated movie. I loved it, but I think it was a little to much for little kids to get and maybe why it failed at the box office.

I would get it on blu-ray 1st day.

I JUST pulled out my DVD this weekend to try to make a copy for my Zune. Would buy day 1 on Blu, and a digital copy would be more than welcome!

Love the soundtrack for that - still listen to it regularly.

It's not high art, but it was a good (and very underrated) little film. I would definitely pick it up on blu if the release it.
