Default 18-150Hz vs. 28-120Hz?

I'm interested in buying one of these two subs. Only because of the convenience of picking either on of them up at BestBuy. Plus I have BestBuy gift cards so I don't have to lay out to much cash. If I was to get something else I don't want to pay over $400 that includes everything. I'm open though to better choices.
Either the Klipsch SW-450 10in Subwoofer FR: 28-120Hz 200watts RMS $449 or Definitive Technology ProSub 1000 10in Subwoofer FR: 18-150hHz 300watts RMS $499
Now my question is, can I hear a difference in frequencies levels? Does it matter that the Klipsch only goes down to 28Hz? Are either of these subs worth the purchase? My setup:
It's a finished basement with a large area rug. I put a long curtain to divide the room because it is a big area. So the room dimensions are 12x17. Thats the area I will be watching my movies in. I'm going to use the sub mainly for movies & videogames, some music. I want to feel the bass hit me but I don't need it to bring the house down. Also the only place I really could put the subwoofer is right next to or behind the left front speaker tower against the wall. Want to make a purchase in less then a month.

I also looked at the HSU STF-2 for $349 l Outlaw LFM-1 Compact $399 l ED A2-300 $350 not sure what to do. Any of these other that much better then the Klipsch or Definitive Tech. I really don't feel like waiting for ever for the A2-300 to be shipped.

Please someone answer this man's question, I'm also looking at some subs and can't decide which one to get
My setup is this: Klipsch RB-51's, RC-52, and RS-42's

The range the sub can be deceiving. Are both ranges measured with the same tolerance? (i.e. how many db drop in output before it's regarded outside it's FR) Either way tho, 28hz is on the light end of low range. However I also question the capacity of a 10 inch sub to hit 18hz with any decent SPL. For a room your size, especially considering you're gonna bleed a lot of the bass away on the other 1/2 of your room, I would heavily consider getting at least a 12", or 2x10" & preferably 2x12's down the line.

Given your price range I would highly suggest looking at a 12 from one of the more established sub makers. I like Definitive Technology but in your price range HSU, SVS or ED would be better options.

In the $500 range I would suggest eD or maybe an MFW-15 if they're having a sale.

EDIT: I just checked and they are having a sale, but only on one color.

Excellent posts and recommendations, and I can highly recommend Elemental Designs for performance. However, the OP has gift cards for Best Buy and doesn't want to lay out much cash.

I can lay out about $400 cash. I don't want to go over that mark. As you can see my options are limited. But anything has to be better then my Sony subwoofer which is almost 10years old 6in woofer. I think 40watts! lol

Thanks, I just went to the site but they want $143 extra for shipping which pushes the price back up to $543. Out of my price range.

Sorry about that. If you can't spend a penny over $400 then the eD A2-300 is the way to go.
