Solo HD DVD studios? - Blu-ray Forum

with all the companys that are split with hd dvd and blu ray which ones are only for hd dvd and which ones are only for blu ray??? I think I heard that universal is only hd dvd?? if so that sucks

Universal Studios

All support HD DVD, but only Universal is HD DVD exclusive. Give them time and even Universal will be forced to release on Blu as well.

Be Patient Man ,Universal is going to be Blu all the way.Just wait till when can resist the outstanding sales of BD

if they were smart theyd be going hard to get jaws, jp series all that out

Uni announced Jaws, JP, and ET at the beginning of this year, but they had to retract that statement because Spielberg didn't authorize it. They published an apology to fans and Spielberg.

true, most companies that with hd dvd are shared with blu ray anyway, it is impossible for universal to stay exclusive to hd dvd

Jaws and JP are by far my favorite movies if they end up coming out only to hd dvd i would have to get one of those players that play both. i hope i dont have to do this.

Spielberg is not interested in releasing on HD DVD, no one will have these until Universal comes to its senses

I think for Spielberg its Blu-Ray or just DVD, plain & simple. I think his stand to not allow Universal to release JP & jaws on HD-DVD is an indication of that. I think he feels comfortable right now where Blu-Ray is in this war and its early life, Blu-Ray has alot of life ahead.
