Well tonight I went to Best Buy to buy TMNT and I noticed they have a whole aisle now full of HD movies! The bad news is that they were 3 BD sections & 3 HD-Dead sections, weaksauce. I was hoping that BBY would be increasing the size of their BD section and decreasing their section of HD-Dead. I sure hope BBY isn't increasing their HD-Dead sections at other stores around the country.

Mine havent budged since they started. Target and Best buy. Target has two vertical rows for each format, one best buy I go to has one five foot section each, the other two five foot sections each. the interesting thing though is that the one with the 2 five foot sections each is situated in a shortened row with only 5 total sections, instead of 6 like the other rows. my interest lies in seeing which one they eventually give the bonus 5 feet to.

You also have to remember that Best Buy is over priced on their Blu-rays. I go to Fry's or even Target because they are $5 to $10 cheaper, hell, Planet Earth was $99 at Best Buy.. priced match Fry's for $65. The 3 best buys by my house have a lousy selection too.

Frys only has a few 13.99$ movies.. none of them are new release or anything. They do sell a lot of 19.99$.. that place rules!
Also, you will not see stores stock more BD than HD until more movies are in HD format in general. It is easy to stock both BD/HD-DVD because there are only so many titles out. When more titles come out resellers will have to be more picky and go with what makes the most money which will likely be BD. |

Here in SC it breaks down kinda like this at my local stores:
BestBuy - 10' BD and 10' HDdvd Circuit City - 6' BD and 6' HDdvd Target - 2' BD and 2' HDdvd Walmart - 4' wide half BD(on top) and HDdvd(on bottom) Sears - about a dozen BD titles and did not notice any HDdvd(Craftsman sign lured me away) Blockbuster has about 40 titls in BD |

I noticed that both of their shelf space was pretty equal in both stores but at Best buy they had the prices for Hd DVD were higher than Blu ray and they had LCD Tv's running both right near each other and it was clear to the general people in the area that the Blu ray was clearer. the sales man saw me looking and told me Blu ray was better and i let him know I was already a loyal supporter. So hopefully he contines to do that when other customers are trying to make a choice.
