I will still love 2D
Casablanca, Shane, Heat, Goldfinger, T2, Aliens, Terminator, Star Wars, Das Boot, Goodfellas, Speed, Platoon, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight. Are all these movies some how lessened by having 3D I say "Hell no." First and foremost movies are about the story, directing and acting, end of discussion. and before people start rehashing all the 3d nonsense again... let me spare you the hassle of typing it:
"i won't buy 3d until i can view it without glasses" "i just bought an hdtv and im not buying another one" "i'm not paying $150 for shutter glasses" "3d is a stupid gimmick and i hate it" "3d makes my head hurt" "avatar is stupid" |

Not a chance. Think of quadraphonic sound. Remember how much a fad that was. Now fast forward to the first generation of any potential new equipment cycle. In hindsight, does anyone want to be there using beta components spending their own time and money as a guinea pig. Remember also that most film is in 2D and it does just fine that way. 3D at this stage is simply an effort to get all of use to toss the equipment we just bought and start over again with new projectors, new players, and expensive glasses to boot for all of our guests. No way!

However, I doubt it. Don't see consumers choosing it for day-to-day TV: news, sports, regular shows they watch while cooking dinner, etc. I have a 50" and a 65" plasma. I'm good for a while & have no reason to replace one of them. But if it's just a standard feature or every new set, then sure, it will slowly be rolled in. But they won't do it that way. They'll sell it as a premium. |

No! One reason is you would have to buy all new equipment to get to full effect of 3D. It may be to price if you dropped good money on a large screen with in 2009!

I just set up the 3-D Panasonic TV(50vt20) and 3-D Blu-ray player in Magnolia/Best Buy, where I work. The 3D on this TV has to be seen to be believed. It blows every other 3D experience I've had out of the water, and in my opinion was better than the 3D at the movie theater. And I've seen a LOT of movies in 3D...probably nearly 20 now. I also set up the Samsung 3D LED, it however, was quite a letdown...it can't even display full 1080p in 3D, it's actually more like Standard Def. It also had a lot of flicker, and looked downright awful in my opinion when compared to the Panasonic.
