Default Do TV series/episodes ever make you feel ripped off?

I'm not sure if you watched Invasion. I watched the entire 1st season that ended with a cliff hanger...only to find out that the series was cancelled. The network didn't even shoot 1 more episode to wrap up the series!

Then today, me and my wife finished watching the final season of According to Jim. Not only was series finale not funny...it was probably the worst episode of the entire series! WTF!?

We've watched all 8 season, every episode, only to be treated with a pathetic finale. I'm ticked!

Yes, there was an episode of True Blood this season that was 40 minutes long and I felt ripped off...where were my other 15 minutes?

Well, I'm not sure about "ripped off", but the Lost series has let alot of people down, although it has not concluded yet. It started off as one of the best series ever, then "wandered" in search of an identity, and finally put itself in limbo. I finally started losing interest last season, perhaps because of the increasingly disjointed (and annoying) flashbacks and flashfowards, apparent mundane explanations for things that started out as "cool" mysteries, and overall it just seemed to be getting tired. Perhaps the producers will get it back on track next season.

I hear ya...and something tells me I'm going to feel ripped off with the upcoming series finale. They've spent so much effort trying to keep us all guessing it's gotten confusing.

YEP but not by LOST show hasn't changed since season 1 imo and still rocks.

Luckily most the shows that fall on my list are sci-fi and got movie wrap ups after cancellation do to an active fanbase.... Farscape, SG-1 etc...

Felt ripped off by numbers.... started off with a great concept and totally sucked with the follow through, how this has lasted beyond the mid season one point is beyond me.

Another show that comes to mind with the ripped off feeling is smallville.... the king show of build up with NO follow through, especially last season building up through the entire season to a 2 second scene

Just off the top of my head thats it, but thanks to the nature of television and support for shows, moving time slots etc... i have had great disappointments from shows cancelled with no wrap up, or forced into one prematurely. Not to mention those that just entirely jump the shark.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but if you're not, all hour long episodes are filmed to be 40-46 minutes based on which television channel is paying for them and how much ad space is set aside... usually it's about 44 minutes.

As for me though, Smallville.

Started out good, but mid season 7 with the announcement of Rosenbaum not coming back, you KNEW they were going to do something with the Lex character, but you didn't know what.

Then the finale was a letdown... after that the worst season of the series which did some rather creative {IE: bad} things with the character of Doomsday, and then ended it in the worst possible way.

I might check out some of season 9 on DVD, I might not, who knows at this point?

HBO shows are commercial-free, so they generally run 50-55 minutes or so.

Canada I had emotional closure then they reopened things...

Prison Break. About halfway through season four there was alot of hype (at least from friends) about how closure was near, then I went to go watch the episode and BAM! Whole new storyline extension, I threw up my arms at that point and realized the show would just never end.

I feel ripped off by Fox. I'm mad at Fox for cancelling such a good show like Arrested Development. Now, Fox moved Fringe's time slot to a real competitive time slot, and now Fringe is losing viewers. Well, Fringe is now running the risk of being cancelled. I feel ripped off...

I love Lost as much or more than I ever have. I can't wait for the season five Blu-Ray coming out next month.

I agree with the OP about Invasion. I was so let down by the series finale cliffhanger that I couldn't bring myself to buy the DVD.

I usually feel "ripped off" when they just cancel a series without tying up any or all loose ends..I just hate it the series you were looking at just vanish and you are left to wonder what ever happen...

Some of my favorite shows have been canceled without a proper ending like New Amsterdam and Eastwick. I also feel ripped off when they renewed buffy the vampire slayer after season 5 which was a good series finale like it was supposed to be instead we got 2 crappy seasons.

I'm one of the rare people that thinks s5 was a weak point in the series. Partially because Dawn got progressively more tolerable but at the beginning it was pretty bad and Glory is my least favorite Big Bad. Season 6 was much better for me, especially the musical episode. 7 was fun because of Caleb and I thought the finale was great.

yeah I loved the musical episode I didn't care for Riley or the intuitive though. But I loved how spike got a bigger role in 6 and 7 though.

I have 2:

1) The way the studios left us hanging at the end of Terminator: The Sarah Connors Chronicles Series Finale

2) The Series Finale of Kyle XY at the end
[Show spoiler] when Kyle finds out that his enemy is his brother
or something like that...I was like what? Then a commercial and then the credits role and no more show. I know the ratings weren't good for the final season but to end the show the way they did was a big letdown for my wife and I.
