Default bd-live

Alot of people when it first started were saying it was a waste of time but i think recently with the studios sending extra content for the disc youve just bought like recently transformers and the x-mens no one is going to turn there nose up at that.Maybe instead of thinking of silly things like being able to talk with your friends while watching a film and games they should just concentrate on giving us extra special features.Im sure theres other worthwhile things you can do with it apart from provide extra special features but i dont think they've come up with anything as worthwhile as that yet.

As far as I'm concerned, it's "extra", so I won't complain.

The only downside is I have to register with every studio who does it. Disney, Warner bros, and Lionsgate all have separate accounts. Its kinda hard keeping track of all the usernames and passwords.

Why do you have to register?

I did two BD-Lives last night (Transformers and Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and wasn't required to register to see content.

Actually BD-live is pretty neat if you own an Iphone with certain titles. I also heard of a BD-live app comming out for the Iphone named couch something. but it's suppose to be a really solid addition to this BD-live thing.

In a perfect world, BD-live is a great tool to limit the amount of physical space occupied by special features - to allow the Blu-ray to offer the best picture and sound available. And to offer updates to the special features online so that the Blu-ray doesn't feel like a one-time purchase. And to offer a premium service to those that purchase rather than rent the movie.

Angry BD Live issues

I'm new to Bluray. I'm hooked up and have successfully got on to BD LIVE through several Disney titles and the Xmen Origions"Wolvernine. But I just got the BD Wizard of Oz. I keep getting a "poor signal strength" text and when I proceed to download a trailer, this is accomplished. BUT, I then try to play it and my player freezes up, screen goes black, and I have to unplug and reset it. What could possibly wrong? I have a new Sharp Aqous 2.0 player, and plugegd a 8 meg flashdrive to it. HELP!

Default BD-LIVE Features/Live Community Screening/My Chat Discussion

Do you guys with Blu-ray discs that has My chat/Live Screening, ever use it?

I don't see or heard anybody using it on other forums, but perhaps this is the forum that will have people doing it more.

I think It sucks you can ONLY have 5-9 people MAX to chat during movie.. you should be able to chat with 50-100s of people that would really make this thing more Eventful!

And, what is everyone else's favorite BD-Live features?

BTW, my ID is JediMutant if anyone want to add me to watch some movies together.

Live Screenings with the director for some of WB's releases. Pretty much all I use BD-Live for except registering Sony Blus for their rewards system.

Default Your thoughts on BD-Live?

Nope. Pretty pointless, IMO.

Not entirely pointless, but I don't really use it much.

I voted no because I never use it, I have no interest in that. I would not call it pointless as I am sure a lot of people must enjoy that feature on Blu-ray

I have never used it, however my Oppo should be here soon so i will check it out then. I probably won't be interested because I never watch the extras that come with disks either.

Don't get too excited. Oppo's support for BD-Live is piss-poor at best.
