Default "The Pillars of the Earth" Starz New Miniseries!

Quote:
The Pillars of the Earth is a historical novel by Ken Follett published in 1989 about the building of a cathedral in Kingsbridge, England. It is set in the middle of the twelfth century, primarily during the time sometimes called The Anarchy, between the time of the sinking of the White Ship and the murder of Thomas Becket.

A Germany-Canada co-production spearheaded by Munich-based Tandem Communications and Montreal-based Muse Entertainment in association with Ridley Scott's Scott Free Films have signed up actors to bring this historical novel to the TV screens, with the premiere set for July of 2010. The series includes the following cast:

Ian McShane as “Waleran”
Donald Sutherland as “Bartholomew”
Rufus Sewell as “Tom Builder”
Matthew Macfadyen as “Prior Philip”
Sarah Parish as “Regan Hamleigh”
David Oakes as “William Hamleigh”
Robert Bathurst as “Percy Hamleigh”
Hayley Atwell as “Aliena”
Sam Claflin as “Richard”
Eddie Redmayne as “Jack”
Liam Garrigan as “Alfred”
Skye Bennett as “Martha”
Gordon Pinsent as “the Archbishop”
Natalia Worner as “Ellen”
Anatole Taubman as “Remigius”
Goetz Otto as “Walter”
Jody Halse as “Johnny Eightpence”
David Bark Jones as “Francis”

I saw a commercial for this after the finale of Spartacus. Looks like it may be pretty good. Anyone else see the commercial? Who else is interested in this? Got Em!!

Hadn't heard about it, but I just read the description on IMDB and can't say I'm very interested. I haven't been a fan of Starz' original programming. I thought Spartacus and Crash were both bad, although I didn't hate Party Down. Probably won't watch this unless it gets some good buzz.

I'm surprised this show didn't get more attention around here. I thought it was quite good. It has a great cast, wonderful production values, complicated themes....And Ian McShane makes a good bad guy. It's available streaming at netflix last I checked. I'd buy the blu if it gets cheap enough. Watch this cool trailer:
