Default Computer to TV question

I am wanting to pick up a new desktop with a blue-ray drive and a geforce 8800GTX. Will i be able to run a dvi to dvi or a dvi to hdmi from my computer to my 52" sony to view HD movies???

Will the quality of the image on my big screen rival what i would get from a stand alone player???

As long as the card and the TV support HDCP (the card does) yes.

I haven't seen the output from the 8800, so I can't say for sure. Personally I've always found PC based playback a bit substandard to the real thing.

Yes. Most computers and cards(HDCP Complaint) have plenty of horsepower to playback Blu-ray on a TV.

This laptop I am typing on(see sig) does an exceptional job!
Contrary to popular belief, computers are quite capable of doing the job.

Only had that happen one time... processor was throttling back(laptop) and just wasn't cutting it.

Make sure your's is not throttling.

Hope this helps.
