Default July.............kind of a sucky bluray month?

Is it just me, or from here on out is it slim pickins until we hit the monster that is August 3?
I don't mind, since the second half of the year is gonna slam me pretty good, but it just seems like four weeks of absolutely nothing. Probably netflix the Criterions, but that's about it.

This is a good thing. It's going to be a dynamite fall/winter.

+1. July is a bit slow, but it's kind of nice to give the old wallet a rest a bit It is definitely going to be an amazing Fall/Winter for BD releases.

There is only 3-4 that I want. Much less that most months. I guess it all depends on what you find awesome. I'm glad it's a better month for you than it is for me.

I'm OK with the fact that July being a sucky month for blu releases. Now I can save money and get myself a new blu player for my birthday in two weeks

imo I was thinking the exact same thing a few weeks ago when I was looking at all the release dates.
but there are certainly a few great titles like "Steamboat Bill" which came out today, and, of course, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo".
I've been dying to see that Swedish version.

Yeah, i meant to highlight the "from here on out" part of my post. Today was solid, but sheesh the next couple of weeks looks like we're getting spared to death.

Yeah it's a bit slow but summer months typically are anyways. The studios don't want us spending all our money in the summer for movies at home they want us watching their movies in the theater and then buying them in Sept-Dec when they come out!

These are the only buys for me this July:

Insomnia
Cop Out

Jason and the Argonauts is such a well done classic that it makes July a great month for BD.

I actually don't mind. In two weeks, I'll be getting The Losers and The Runaways, which are two movies I've been really looking forward to. The rest of this month being slow has allowed me to somewhat catch up on watching other movies in my collection.

now that i've decided against buying anything and everything i'm enjoying not having my wallet smashed to pieces every tuesday. for me personally, auagust will be crushing, but otherwise i have only a few purchases left this year (i hope).

AUGUST
Dexter: season 4
Lost: season 6
Lost: the complete series

SEPTEMBER
Fringe: season 2
The Office: season 6
American Beauty

and then whenever the hell the Deadwood complete series and Toy Story 3 comes out (guessing October / November). that's all i'm looking forward to. but still, brutal times are coming for all!

Well, it is the Summer movie season. Everyone is at the theater or spending time outside in the nice hot weather. Not exactly the best time to release BDs.

It's definately a slow month, but that is a very good thing. I've only got these three domestic releases to buy:

Brooklyn's Finest
Repomen
Insomina

August/September are going to be a pain because of all the TV shows coming out: Dexter, Glee, Fringe, Chuck, Supernatural, Smallville, Big Bang Theory... I can hear my Visa screaming Nooo, and the banks going Yes, Yes!

Still waiting for a Target or Best Buy $15 sale on recent releases. Yes the July releases suck, thought I was the only one that noticed.
