Default Interesting article on HD DVD

Came across this on HDDVD's website. I'm sure many of you have read it but I found it interesting. I have to say, if I was an uninformed consumer reading this article would certainly sway me to HDDVD. They make a valid point about the PS3. Afterall, that is my Blu-Ray player too.

"That’s not all. Engineers who’ve worked with both formats say Blu-ray is a pig to program. While extremely flexible, its programming language, BD-Java, requires lots of low-level code for even the simplest of instructions. The highly skilled programmers needed to do the job don’t exactly grow on trees. And because of the program’s complexity, even the best produce their share of bug-ridden software."

Looks like someone got paid to talk out of their a$$.

hmm yes indeed, I can imagine that picture in picture and interactive menus are going to be a massive challange in the next 15 years. Oh lord, I think I'll switch to HDDVD to make life easier for menu programmers.

the ps3 has one thing the xbox 360 will never have is that folding@home program and since the ps3 plays blu-ray movies why bother buying a hd-dvd player?

Don't forget the HDDVD players for the 360 are only 1080i, and totally bites.

Plus the 360's break a lot. I know, I'm on my third 360.

Tell that to all the programmers out there using Java for programs. Every web based app at my company uses java

P.S. That was a nice little baby earthquake that shook here in So Cal a minute ago.

Edit: Ok a semi baby EQ. 4.7 Lake Elsinore.
