I vaguely remember this, but I might be confusing this with RAD.

I recorded this when it was on some movie channel in the last few months (Flix?) but haven't watched it yet - very glad to know it's going to be on blu-ray soon.

Lest you think that Severin are finished with the land down under, you may look forward to Severin's upcoming special edition of BMX Bandits! That's right, in their continuing quest to bring as many "what the ****?" classics to Blu-ray as possible, Severin have landed this early Nicole Kidman vehicle (pun intended). Never thought you'd see this on Blu-ray? Well, neither did anyone else, but Severin are doing it! Following in their own footsteps after they released 80's nudie classics Screwballs and Loose Screws: Screwballs 2, they've managed to once again raise the bar for unexpected Blu-ray packages. Sure, we were all shocked when MGM put out Troll 2 a few months back, but that was a one off. This disc, this package, this choice shows a commitment from Severin to release the films they want in the best possible package they can come up with. I respect that. BMX Bandits is scheduled to release in March of 2011.

Wow! The two Screwball movies and now this! I wouldn't be surprised if they went after RAD, which was one of my favorites growing up.

Rad NEVER even has had a legitimate DVD release to this day!

In the 80's this movie was on HBO constantly, it seemed. As a kid I couldn't get enough of PJ, Goose, and Powder Puff.

If Severin Films can give us this gem then surely they can deliver "Thrashin'" and "The North Shore".

Rented this on DVD in like 2008 or something. Totally felt different than watching it as a kid (as opposed to champions). I used to dream about BMX bandits, and I think the dreams were more lavish and high budget looking with immersion and I think nicole kidman was hotter? I mean she was like 16 here and really unrefined, certainly no hollywood tricks here..just bike ones.

I really used to feel like the bikes were the main characters. I wanted to own one and wear all their color coded outfits etc. Come on now don't hate, I was like 7 when I saw it on VHS...

Very true, but it did play on a HD channel and a copy of that is floating around. Not too bad quality either considering it's a low budget 80s film.

Great Australian indy film. Good story, and very nostalgic re: the '80's. I also liked seeing Nicole Kidman's bushy red hairstyle - this was unintentionally funny

Haven't heard anything about this going OOP although it's been out for almost 7 years so it's certainly possible. More likely Amazon just isn't stocking it anymore so third party sellers are trying to take advantage. Still not finding it readily available on too many other sites though...

It's a really fun film, I highly encourage picking it up. I wouldn't quite equate it to The Goonies like Quentin Tarantino did but it's neat watching Nicole Kidman's first starring film role when she still had her natural giant curly hair and accent.

Wanting to get this in the UK.. German release seems the cheapest and easiest but can anyone tell me if the titles were remade with the German title or if it's identical to the US and AU release?
