BU will release Dario Argento's Deep Red on Blu-ray on April 26, 2011

Yeah, I was just about to order the Arrow release but I'm a big fan of Blue Underground's BDs so I will wait for this one. Plus they ae likely to have their own set of exclusive features as they always do. Bill Lustig had mentioned last year that they were working on the Deep Red BD so I'm sure it'll be just as good if not better than Arrow's release. Although Arrow has some cool cards and a poster that come along with it... Good times to be an Argento fan

Yep, it sure is. Now if we could just get a proper release of 4 Flies on Grey Velvet.

Deep Red from Blue Underground is a MUST. I hope it'll look better than Arrow's release.

And your source for that is... ? They're working with the same master. It's very unlikely that BU's version will be THAT much better.

BU is doing their own new scan of the film. My source is Bill Lustig himself.

Even if they were using the same master, which from what I've heard so far they are not, Arrow's blu-rays employ digital sharpening and look overly processed. Just because they're imports and have new extras, doesn't mean the aq/pq is superior.

Differences between aq/pq were minimal at best. Biggest difference were the special features.

They should find a way to "standardize" their ratings, because in this case it's ridiculous. No way in hell that Arrow's BD deserved the same PQ rating as BU's.

Well I watched it last night (the english version) and all I can say is, AWESOME! Another great release from Blue Underground.

PQ is top notch and the mono soundtrack is a solid track.
