Just bought Broken Arrow yesterday at Fry's. The artwork that came with it was different than that artwork here on blu-ray.com. See the picture for an example.
Has anyone else noticed this? I also found the "new" artwork on a custom covers website. But like I said, this is a store-bought brand-new item that has the cover art on the right. Bizarre. |

I haven't seen this new artwork before, but I picked up the Untouchables a while back at my local Best Buy, and that has new artwork, too, that does not match the original artwork as seen here on Blu-ray.com. I think the studios just chose to release new artwork for the films, this also has been the case with Enemy at the Gates, and We Were Soliders.

specifically OpenElec people (yes I know it's based on Kodi) think thats the name.. They have this one program if I run the dvd of this off a hard drive hence media server connected to the router that tells the name of the movie with cover and description. Problem is it's got one quirk. Detects the wrong movie but right title. Wonder if I did this with this movie and I'll still get the modern absurd version with Travolta... Which I've never watched. Never heard that many good things about it to care. Yes I can manually search for it but one would think they'd be able to tell the movies apart. Now running blu rays of the drive isn't bad but that was when out broadband was 100/50 it's now supposedly 200/100 (although speedtest claims 240 with our TP Link with the AD7200 as if anyone uses AD yet) but the fact that with the Netgear 8000 I never could get near 100 when we were at 100 was rather telling when TP Link came it was right at 100 or 101. ) But I need a new external hard drive for that cause of all the times dad reset the thing naturally it would mess the hard drive up (yes sorry I went off on a tangent. ) obviously will be looking for this on rental first

I hope I am not alone in wishing for a 4K treatment of this movie.
Face/Off just got a great release, let's keep the ball rolling! "I said goddamn, what a rush!" |

Extremely weird someone just bumped this since I watched it tonight and was gonna bump it myself.
Anyway I'm glad this disc looks thoroughly okay since Disney will likely ignore this movie forever now. No horrible processing, relatively good image quality. Now just gotta hope the disc never rots. Movie definitely one I didn't like much back in the day because it's so dumb but now it's great because movies have gotten way dumber and it's filmed at real locations, not green screen covered warehouses. |

"Hush. Hush." Hans' score is pretty killer too. I miss the 90's, when action flicks could just be fun and not cinematic universes and superheroes and shit. |

In addition to the energetic performance of John Travolta and the believable inclusion of Christian Slater, Broken Arrow proved to me that Samantha Mathis could be credible as an action heroine in her own right. She and Slater actually play off very well together in the film, which is understandable given they actually dated for a time in real life. The movie also has some good supporting cast, including Delroy Lindo, Frank Whaley, Kurtwood Smith, and the always memorable Bob Gunton. Its also one of John Woo's few American efforts, that made a decent profit ($150.2 million on a $50 million budget, to be exact). If they ever do release this in 4K, I'll grab it for sure; its a wild ride.

This is a fun, entertaining flick. John Travolta is equal parts mean-spirited, memorable, and hilarious. Also really like the Hans Zimmer score—that slow guitar riff theme is so darn catchy. Hopefully it gets a solid 4K release in the not-too-distant future.
Riley: "You're outa your mind!" Deakins: "Yeah! Ain't it cool!?" Last edited by Coligion; 12-02-2024 at 06:07 PM. |
