Default Final Fantasy VII back-compat.

I know sonys website says theres a block above the head of the characters during the first battle, but does the game continue or just lock up. Im wanting to know if anyone has played through the game completely, how it worked for them, and what system did they use?

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. Are you referring to the original Final Fantasy 7 on the PSX? If so are you asking if it locks up while playing it on a PS3? Please clarify so we can help.

The game works fine past that point. I'm 20 hours in with no issues except for the occasional screen flicker. The is playing the original FF7 on the PS3 upscaled to 1080p with smoothing on.

Sorry, to clarify, Im wondering if anyone has played through the entire game with a ps3 yet, how well it worked, and what version of the ps3 was used to do so. I want to make sure it can play this game before I get a system.

I'm fairly sure all PS3s use the same software emulation for PS1 games. There's no PS1-specific hardware in any version of the PlayStation 3 as far as I am aware. If it works on one, it should work on all.

What do you think looks better, FF7 on PS3 with smoothing, or FF7 on PC with graphics exceleration?
