Revolution (New J.J. Abrams show for fall '12)

Just when you thought J.J. Abrams might not have a sci-fi pilot in contention for next fall, along comes Revolution.

NBC has picked up a new drama pilot from the Star Trek director and Warner Bros. TV. The logline: “A high octane action drama from J. J. Abrams following a group of characters struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.”

Now that’s the rather cryptic official description. But here’s an earlier, more exciting logline with more detail:“In this epic adventure thriller, a family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out … forever.”

Ohhhh. Better, yes? Tough concept on a TV budget, but I’d watch this.

This sounds very intriguing, I'm wondering what the cast might look like.

It sounds like it's as good as gone. Revolution sounds very promising though.

saw the ad, looks very interesting, kind of made me think of the BBC show from the 70's called survivors http://www.survivorstvseries.com/What_Is_Survivors.htm in this show a major plagued killed 99% of people which explained the collapse of civilization and technology (right, cars are useless without cars, power plants can't run without workers....).

I liked that show...thought it had promise, another HUGE letdown (for me at least) was "Defying Gravity" based off of a BBC Pseudodocumentary called "Voyage to the Planets & Beyond". I've been watching Revolution since day one...looks good, but will prolly implode under its own budget and viewership. Sci-Fi notoriously fails on Network TV not to mention adding the Post-Apocalyptic angle, shame really.

So, what does everyone think they r gonna do with the time lag? It should take a least a month to walk from Noblesville to Philly (assuming they dont stop for side adventures like

). So what do Monroe, Rachel and Danny do for a month while our heroes catch up? I guess Monroe tries to find 12 needles in a haystack.

Look the only problem with this show is Charlie, not only is she dumb as hell, but shes also not the cute.

I've actually given up on this series ... I thought that the series would improve but it hasn't. Least we have other good shows, like Arrow and The Last Resort.

who knows, I am not a train expert, but a steam engine works off of steam and so it might need more water (i.e. the steam works with a piston the same way gas works with a cars piston) also steam engines were designed for coal and coal has a lot more calories then wood, so the train might not be able to go as fast and will need a lot more wood than it would have needed coal to get to the same place. so it might not get there as fast as you think. Also maybe they will decide to get horses again and speed up their chase. Also was't the guy telling the captain that the path was not ready yet?

Over his tv career, only one has failed that He's created or co-created. Several have failed as executive producer.

The latest trailers shown during the Olympics are pretty cool, but I could swear they are playing The Hunger Games angle by showing so many bow users, putting the girl front and center running in the woods with her crossbow and things like that ....

Anyone else seeing this?

A year or two ago I stopped watching full trailers or the "coming up next week - sneek peeks"... they tend to give too much away. Just like movie trailers show you all the best action sequences or jokes before you ever even go to the theatre. I understand they have to do something to market TV & Movies and that a lot of people like seeing these things but I want to be surprised so I have actively avoided everything except one teaser trailer. Heres to hoping this show lasts longer than a single Season (if that).
