Default PS3 remote turning off my monitor...

hey guys,

i wouldn't really call it an issue. but for some reason whenever i turn on the PS3, my tv's remote won't work, however my PS3 controller can control the tv. now i am serious, i never ran into such an issue similar as this one. but do you guys by any chance know anything about this. it is only a problem whenever i play a game. pushing the circle button would turn off my tv. . do you guys think that the HDMI cord has something to do with it. i have a 1.3 hdmi, and my TV is Samsung LN-S4095D 40" 1080p LCD HDTV

The tv isn't blutooth. but seriously i swear to god this is the issue i am having with it. and what sucks is i can't play games because it would mean everytime i press circle the TV turns off. at first i assumed that it must be the HDMI cord. so i bought a new one. and still, i am experiancing this issue. i just don't know whats wrong. is there any setting on the PS3 where you could make the controller control the TV. i don't see it. and hold if you hold the PS button the PS3 would give you a list of commands, everytime i choose the QUIT GAME COMMAND the tv turns off.

Default Check tv settings for hdmi control

Go into your tv settings. Look for anything that has HDMI device control, or just device control label. If the setting is on turn it off and you should be gold. HDMI allows for connected devices to control each other

that's weird since the ps3 is bluetooth enable and most if not all tvs are IR controlled by remote. maybe check your device settings and controller settings on the ps3. i say it has to be a problem w/ your ps3 and/or accessories rather than your tv.

well, the thing is, the TV has a power button flash. whenever i choose the qut game command or press circle, the flash on tv blinks 3 or four times and turns into red, which means the TV is off.

Not necessarily -- usually off would be no lights and standby would have a red/orange light.

Your TV will likely kick into standby as you quit a game or switch resolutions because it doesn't get a signal for a short time -- it should come right back on when it gets the signal again (when you get back to the XMB screen on the PS3, for example).

If your TV isn't detecing that signal then either your tv is messed or your ps3 is -- I'd definitely try a different input (if you have multiple HDMI) or a different input type (try component?).
