Default Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone 3-D (1983)

With Enemy Mine being released in October (I've never seen this) from Twilight Time, I thought of another 80s sci-fi that I would like to see in a Bluray release (either from them or another label).
Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983)

I watched that as a kid once, and I rediscovered it last year. Some scenes were stuck in my mind from my childhood.
I know it's cheesy, not a good movie, but I like it a lot.

any other here that loves the movie?

A classic 80's sci-fi flick! I defintiely saw this when I was my family was stationed on Ramstein AFB. I watched the movie, in it's entirety, on VHS on one of the floor model tv's in the BX! Great memories...man were my legs tired from standing!

It's possible that Twilight Time or Mill Creek could rescue this from extinction. I wouldn't mind seeing it, along with Krull, and even Yor, the Hunter from the Future (!) all make the trek to blu.

I just proposed on Twilight Time's facebook that they should look into releasing a 3D version of this film. I'm also a big fan of it, total 80's Sci-Fi cheese! I can't imagine what it would be like in 3D since I never got a chance to seeing in theaters (cause like, I was being born that year).

I agree with the previous poster about Krull as well, that needs to be on blu. Considering Enemy Mine sold out, I can't imagine Krull wouldn't for Twilight Time. Spacehunter maybe less so but if it had the advantage of being a 3D release, it very well might.

Twilight Time has never released their blu-ray movies in 3D because, their movies are released under a limited contractual licensing agreement, from other major studios, in their original presentation.

This was the first movie I saw in 3D, and I would love to see it again that way. It was shot dual camera and printed for release in the SpaceVision format (over/under 35mm). A properly mastered Blu-ray should be excellent.

Definitely onboard for a Blu release of Spacehunter. Nice cheesy '80's sci-fi flick with a young MR....I remember this came out the same year as ROTJ.

I didn't see Spacehunter in the theater, but did see another 3D movie that year - the even cheesier Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared Synn I don't think this has even been released to regular DVD, let alone Blu...

Now that another Ivan Reitman production, Ghostbusters, has seen its second theatrical re-release in three years, what are the odds of Spacehunter getting a 3D theatrical re-release before Blu-ray 3D?

BTW Spacehunter did get a DVD release from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment on December 4, 2001.

I would be one happy camper if this did happen.
