I've got it on order with my local jb. Just about every jb store has their stock except for the store I've got it preordered with . I was tempted to just pick it up at a different store today and cancel my preorder. Hopefully it comes in tomorrow. If someone hasn't posted up any info about it by the time I get my copy, then I will post up any details you want to know.

Cool, thanks.

I'll be picking it up but not until Sunday. Keen to hear thoughts on the transfer!

Thumbs down

This is really disappointing.

For one, to actually cut out a scene on a 20th Anniversay Edition is almost sacrilege.

Second, I've been waiting for a proper uncut release ever since I saw the trailer in the theatre back in the early 90s. The trailer showed explicit sex clips (as in porn explicit) from the scene where Hando and Gabe have sex the first time.

All that was cut from the theatrical release that I saw, and also from any DVD, LaserDisc and VHS I've been able to find. When you see the edited scene, it's obvious how much footage has been cut, and also how bad a job they've done of cutting it down. Seems like a crazy butcher went into the cutting room.

I was really hoping that if anything, we'd get an extended version bringing back all the scenes censored out (which I assume were present at festival screenings), perhaps even more scenes.

This seems more like one of those cheap "let's just bring the old scan to this new bluray media thing" releases. And then to call it a 20th Anniversary Edition Sad.
