Sound System for a Friend - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys,

I had a couple of friends come over yesterday. They got a look of my setup with my PS3 and my awesome sony speakers and receiver. One of my friends said that hes been looking to buy a good home theater system for his HD tv. However he cant afford the ones I got ($1000) and is looking for something in the $300 and below range. I dont really know what the best would be so could ya guys help me out.

P.S. Yes he does have Blu-ray a PS3 like me so something that can handle Linear PCM would be nice

Are you saying a compete 5.1 system for $300? or just a receiver?

Ouch that might take some digging. All I know is I cannot think of anything close to that without doing some.
