Default SED or OLED?

Two emerging technologies that are going to attempt to dominate the HDTV world are both SED and OLED TV's. At least on paper though and from the information that is available thus far, which technology might have the upper hand over the other?

None. They are both vaporware for the most part.

Toshiba and Canon have push SED back to almost 2008, although they have been able to bring out some prototypes to the electronics shows.

When these finally do hit the streets...wait until see the cost?

OLED? Who knows? Has anyone even seen an OLED prototype show up anywhere yet?

I cannot even imagine what OLED will cost when.if it ever hits the streets.

OLED has the promise but is still just vaporware. If I had to choose one to make happen it would be OLED though how much longer until that is avaliable I couldn't say.

i've got a friend who was hyping OLED to me.

he was talking about the possibility of covering a car in OLED, which I think would be just about the wickedest "paint job" one could have.

i haven't heard anything about SED, though.

That'll probably help.

As far as I'm concerned... Don't think it'll be reality soon, much like HVD.
