Default steelbooks insert

Does anyone know of steels out there that are not trilogies that have an insert that holds three discs or a way to get just an insert that holds three discs?

I just bought the 25th anniversary edition of Back to the Future and want to try and get an insert to hold all three movies.

edit: It looks like the CA version of The Hobbit does, so hopefully the UK version does as well and I can just swap out the inserts and the spine and call it a day since I can deal with a steelbook not having the DVD or special features disc.

join the club.

i wish you could buy 2 and 3 disc steelbook inserts (g2 size). especially for things like the warner uk steelbooks (ex. ben hur). only idea i've had is to buy a handful of 'the dark knight's and use them for the inner case.

There's another idea.

It sucks because I could have sworn I was bidding on a steelbook trilogy and did not realize till afterwards. Heck, I am sure if I go through my steels at home I could find one the might have a three disc insert I could then use for this project.

Look for used/damaged Steelbooks with three-disc holder on eBay. It's a better option than ripping apart a perfectly good Steelbook and making that one inferior.

Thanks for the suggestion. A quick search on eBay for "damaged Steelbook" did not net me too many results unfortunately.

I don't believe we're getting the DVD copy in ours so the steelbook will likely be a two-disc holder. I hope I'm wrong though as I would like the third slot for the 3D disc (if not it'll be kept in a plastic wallet inside the steelbook, as I did with The Avengers).

Fast & Furious 5, The Hunger Games, Battle Royale and the original Kick-Ass steelbooks were all three-disc sets. Fast & Furious 5 can be picked up for £8.35 at the moment (and probably cheaper third party or eBay).

EDIT: Someone has a used copy on Amazon for £7.50 (including postage). Scratches on the discs but obviously you're not fussed about that.

Damn, that is not a bad deal especially since I have been looking to get Fast Five...just not the UK version but I can deal with that.

I emailed them months ago and never got a response. If you hear something let us know. I am sure there are quite a few people looking to do this. In the mean time I found a TDKR steelbook on eBay for $10 that I might buy just for the inside disc holder.

I have been looking all over the net for a place to buy just the inserts. I realize this is an old thread but I thought I would ask if anyone knows of a place to buy these at yet? The last post was 3yrs ago so I thought I would see if there were any updates? I would like to find them in 2,3,4 disc inserts without buying actual steelbooks just for the inserts. I am not interested in the glue on hub things just the inserts. Anyone know of a place?

I think people buy really cheap crappy steelbooks, like the Steve Austin 4 pack for $10. But that's just one insert with 4 discs.

If there hasn't been anything posted by now, then there probably isn't any such outlet, sadly. I know if I ever stumbled upon somewhere selling just the innards, I'd let the forum know. Many others would, too.

Yes I suppose your right. I know I would as well. Just so hard to believe no one is selling these things? As much damage that accures or can accure with steels you would think someone would want to sell them. Of course maybe they just want us to buy another copy. Well at any rate this blows. I would like to condense my discs into my steels but you just can't fit 3 or 4 discs in a steel using the stick on hubs. To me having new inserts to accommodate however many discs there is is the best way to go. Well if I find anything I will be sure to post it.

These were on sale for $6 each around Black Friday on AMZ, unfortunately I could only order 3 as they placed a customer limit for the item. I just ordered 7 more at $8 each (just enough to get free shipping, otherwise shipping would've been like $10 for a handful). Hopefully they won't cancel the order. Luckilly, I received the first order yesterday so I could verify that the cases aren't any wider than the normal 1/2/3 disc SteelBooks before I ordered more.

I bought these to swap cases for titles like Ben Hur or Gone With The Wind where there are multiple discs, but the SteelBook releases only got a single disc release. It also opens up the possibility of including OST CDs or UHD discs. They'd also be a little easier to use than the normal 2-disc cases, as the discs don't overlap. But the plastic is probably thinner.

I feel kinda dirty buying so many copies of bad films for donor cases.

I kinda feel like, if Scanavo sold replacements, they'd probably be like $2-3 each anyways.

It's a real shame they don't sell the inlay plastic. But it would be more than 2 or 3 bucks

I wonder what I'll do with ten copies of each (40 discs total)! lol

Thought maybe print up an insert and sell them in normal cases, but I don't think these would sell enough to recoup the cost of a replacement case and ink costs.

Ten cases should be enough for me for future use. Not too many titles get 3-4 disc sets. There are a lot of 2-disc sets out there, but the same could be said of 2-disc SteelBooks that I could harvest.

I've been looking at damaged steels on ebay and even cex here in the uk. Some are really cheap. But does mean you have to buy a movie you don't want or like to have a innards.
