Im looking to get a VX2025wm monitor for my comp and I will do my 360 gaming on it via VGA
I know the res is 1680 x 1050 I also want to play my ps3 on it when it comes out obviously if they release a VGA cable I can play games at 720p\1080i but if they stick to a dvi will it work? on this monitor at 720p\1080 equivalent resolutions if anyone has tested a Blu ray@1080i or HDVD via dvi and it worked then im sure ill be fine with the PS3 |

Tough to say. If you're looking at playing MOVIES via the PS3, you could see an HDCP compliance issue happen to you and you will not get an image. For PC and gaming type useage? I can't see why the DVI would not work. You would be using an HDMI-DVI cable from the PS3's HDMI out to the monitor's DVI IN. Obviously the VGA works for the 360 or whatever else. There's also component-VGA adapters out there if you need something like that. And there's tons of switchers and God knows what else, so you can get whatever you want done, to a point. Check out websites like: www.ramelectronics.net http://www.monoprice.com ^^ I highly recommend their 2x1 or 5X1 HDMI switchers, especially at those prices! www.bettercables.com http://www.bluejeanscable.com/ And the like, to get an idea of whats' out there and what I'm talking about... The only thing I'd say to you is this: Wait until the PS3 is actually out and you own one before you start making plans and throwing around money. You MIGHT find it a better use of your money to simply upgrade displays and work your way out from there. |

thanks for the info
Yeah I guess I should wait till ps3 comes out but even if i do theres no way Ill get an as good monitor for as cheap a price that HDCP compliant I dont care for movies on my pc monitor but it would be nice but if i can find out 100% that the ps3 gaming will work on the monitor I think i might just grab this monitor considering theres HDCP cracks already on there way |

I can't imagine the gaming side would be an issue. HDCP only kicks in for movie playback situations. |

That isn't a definite as since the new games will be on blu-ray and therefore must comply to blu-ray standards I won't be surprised if it kicks into HDCP with HDMI or DVI so just make sure the monitor is HDCP compliant.
