Default VH1's "Scream" (Season 3)

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...-renews-446563

I'd much rather have a Scream 5, but I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. MTV did a fantastic job on the TV series of Teen Wolf so I have a little faith. And knowing MTV, it'll be pretty people with perfect hair getting paired up and murdered.

Despite already been greenlit, the pilot, which will produced by DiGa Vision in partnership with MTV and "Scream" movie studio Dimension Films, does not yet have a writer attached, though Craven is in talks with Dimension to potentially direct. How the "Scream" concept will be translated to television form is also not yet clear, though MTV vows to "reinvent the successful horror comedy franchise that spawned three sequels and unleashed 'Ghostface' to a legion of unsuspecting fans" and is aiming for a summer 2014 premiere. MTV currently has a genre hit in its darker and soapier adaptation of "Teen Wolf."

I remember when this was originally announced I was against it. I love Scream, like, LOVE it, but a TV series? That would probably be lame. But I'm of a different mindset now. I actually think this could be fairly cool. Dare I say I'm a bit excited? Especially if Craven does indeed direct the pilot. It's not like we'll get a Scream 5 so why not? This might work. And I love MTV's Teen Wolf and Awkward so I do have some faith. I'm not positive how this premise will be stretched over seasons, but we'll see.

It was announced back in 2011 it was. So it should be interested how this is gonna be handled. Is each season be like a movie mini series, or like Harper's Island where each ep a different character is killed until its revealed who the killer or killers are and why.

I hope they incorporate social media into the show like the fake Stab 6.

I completely agree with all of that. Teen Wolf is one of my favorite shows right now. And at least it's something if we're not getting Scream 5. And I'm totally for more eye candy haha, Teen Wolf does a great job with that.

And the series has ran it's way into the ground. Scream 4 was a horrible rehash of the horrid Scream 3. And you're going to debase it to nothing more than a Teen Mom-esque cast. Shame.

Scream 4 was outstanding. One of the best horror films in recent years.

I wish they would at least get the entire main cast together for a TV movie (aka Scream 5/2 hour series premiere) of the TV Show. And then hand it off to a new cast. and maybe some of the cast can still appear now and again and stuff.

They should raise money for it Kickstarter style as well

Wow, what a response. You know why it sucked? It rehashed Scream 3 with the killer being a family member. How lame. Kevin Williamson is hack writer and for the fact that they let that crap get green lighted is atrocious. Wow, let's terrorize my aunt because her bastard brother tried to kill her some odd years ago. What the hell ever.

And bowing down to giving it a TV show just shows that they don't care anymore and it'll probably be like those stupid My Psycho Sweet 16 crappy TV horror films with cast the crappy Piranha 3DD.

Did you see the same Scream 4 as everyone else?

Same. I love the Scream franchise, but this being on MTV could go either way.

Eh, no. But, you all can enjoy your watered down MTV television version of Scream with no real violence and no language with them all saying; "Shoot!" and "Darn it!"

I'm fairly certain "damn it" and "shit" can be said on cable television.

In Awkward curses sometimes and they bleep it.

Wonder how are they going to handle the concept in a tv show.

They don't have to bleep curse words though, other than f*ck. And I think even that is fair game on cable.

Maybe you haven't noticed, but cable TV (h*ll, even network TV) has gotten pretty violent. Not to mention somewhat sexually explicit. That rape scene in the Bates Motel pilot was fairly shocking. There's also cursing allowed, just not the "F" word.

I thought Scream 4 was a blast. It was great seeing the characters back. No it's not amazing like the first, but it's about on-par with the third.

My ratings:

Scream - A+
Scream 2 - A-
Scream 3 - B+
Scream 4 - B+
