Default hd-dvd's are 1080p

Every hd-dvd in my library says that they are in fact 1080p. It' the first gen
Toshiba hd series that can only "output" 1080i. This is mainly because currently
there are only like three t.v.'s that can accept a full 1080p signal. Why make a first gen player even more expensive when 97% of consumers need a 720p, or 1080i output. Wait a few more months 1080p "output" for hd-dvd will arrive soon.

hd-dvd is beautiful
blu-ray is next with ps3, can't wait!

Futureproofing IMO is a good thing, even if my current tv can't support something, I'll take all the future spec i can get now.
