Lightbulb itunes Digital Copies

Does anyone on here actually go for itunes digital copies and avoid other digital copies? Seems like alot more people are avoiding these itune codes, since they are cheaper online to purchase, and sit forever on the pay it forward thread for trades.

I imagine anyone with an AppleTV unit would go after iTunes codes. That would be the main reason for someone to prefer iTunes over UV.

My digital collection is spread across UV and iTunes but I prefer UV because I have a VUDU app on my TV and I don't have to download and store all my movies. I'm sure there are plenty of people who prefer iTunes to UV but I would be surprised if there are a lot of people who still avoid UV completely. There are just so many movies now coming with UV/VUDU only codes.

I started out with UV/Vudu but I ran into a problem.

Regardless of what Vudu states on their website, Closed Captioning support is nearly non existant on movies on the PS3. I immediately started to get iTunes movies and went out and bought an Apple TV. Zero issues with iTunes digital copies with regards to this.

When the Hobbit came out, there was a lot of complaints about this to Vudu about the lack of CC support. I think they are going to get slapped soon by the FCC over this.

I find all the digital copies to be cumbersome.

I redeem them all (Vudu and Itunes.)

These days I don't dl the itunes one's ... I just leave them in the cloud. Sometimes they disappear and re-appear.

I don't really care about any of them because it's all stuff I have on Blu and that's how I prefer to watch it.

Due to the nature of how Apple does things, iTunes digital copies are just far too limiting. With the devices I own, I can only access them on my PC and on my iPad. And on my iPad, I'm forced to download them if I want to watch them. I can't stream them. That doesn't work out so well when much of the storage is used and the files are several gigs.

UV on the other hand isn't limiting at all. I can access UV copies on all of my devices - PC, iPad, Galaxy Note 2, PS3, Roku, and TV. And I know that I'll be able to access them on pretty much any device that I purchase next. Plus, not only can I download the movies to all of my devices (except for the TV), but I can also stream UV to all of them.

UV just provides far more flexibility and choice. For someone who is completely invested in the Apple ecosystem, iTunes digital copies are fine, but for those who aren't or for those who like to use devices from a variety of manufacturers (like myself), UV digital copies are preferable.

How do you do this? iTunes always wants to download the digital copy. And if I remove the items from my download queue, it gets added back the next time I download something. I'd use iTunes more often if I could leave everything in the cloud without having to download it.

I bought a digital copy of Doctor Who: The Web Of Fear. But otherwise, I tend to go for physical copies with or without UltraViolet over digital ones.
